PUBLIC ASSISTANCE
(South Stormont) – On September 26, 2017 at approximately 11:21am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person on the Long Sault Parkway, South Stormont Township
Police are conducting a criminal investigation and looking for information on the owner or occupant of a small white cargo van with “Ried” on the side in Orange or dark lettering that was in the area of the Long Sault Parkway, South Stormont between the times of 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on September 25th, 2017.

CHARGES LAID RELATING TO THEFT
(South Stormont) – On September 26, 2017 at approximately 8:25pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft at a residence on County Road 2, South Dundas Township.
Investigation indicated that the culprit attended a property and removed lumber from the property. Investigation also resulted in seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
David LISCUMB (46) of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Theft – Under $5000
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 6th 2017.
TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES
(South Dundas) – On September 28, 2017 at approximately 2:25am, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Beach Avenue, South Dundas Township. This resulted in the seizure of a quantity of methamphetamine. Investigation also revealed the male was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident.
Jacques PERIARD (34) of Gananoque, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Fail to comply Probation Order
He was released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on November 14, 2017.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(North Stormont) – On September 27, 2017, a SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officer conducted speed measuring enforcement on County Road 43, North Stormont Township and intercepted a vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– September 27, 2017 – 6:13am (North Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 157km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (19) from Russell, Ontario was charged accordingly
