PEDESTRIAN INVOLVED IN FATAL COLLISION
HIGHWAY #417 EASTBOUND CLOSED
(CHAMPLAIN TOWNSHIP) – On November 15, 2017 at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hawkesbury Detachment, Prescott-Russell Paramedics and the Champlain Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 417 Eastbound lanes in Champlain Township.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are attending the scene to assist with the investigation. This collision involved a tractor trailer and a pedestrian and has one confirmed fatality.
Highway 417 Eastbound is closed at Highway 34 and detours will be in effect for several hours.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and an update will be issued when accurate and confirmed information becomes available.
