Cornwall Ontario – Last year, after several houses of worship in the Ottawa area were vandalized, the Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities came together to support a Boxing Day blood drive with Canadian Blood Services. The event was successful in demonstrating solidarity but also in helping provide much needed blood to Ottawa patients and hospital.
This year, the event will be broadened to include more faith communities and will take place over five days beginning on December 21st. Blood donors of all faiths are encouraged to take time over the Holidays to donate blood. To help kick things off, Archbishop Terrence Prendergast will be rolling up his sleeve to donate blood himself.
