SERIOUS COLLISION HIGHWAY 7 CLOSED
(MUNICIPLAITY OF MISSISSIPPI MILLS, ON) – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue to investigate a fatal collision on Highway 7 near Ramsay Concession 1 in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
Police were called to the scene at 7:25am on Tuesday January 2, 2018.
Investigation revealed that a westbound Hyundai passenger vehicle and an eastbound Hyundai passenger vehicle had collided.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, Nader KAWASH (28 years) of the Town of Carleton Place, died at the scene.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, an adult male from the Town of Perth, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Hospital by Air ambulance.
Highway 7 between Ferguson Falls Road and Ramsay Concession 2A was closed for approximately six and a half hours and was reopened at 2:05pm.
