Calls for Service
Kingston Police had 141 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on January 24, 2018. Of these, 106 calls occurred in the city central area, 24 in the west end, 5 in the east end, and 2 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

- 3 fight/disturbance calls
- 6 undesirable calls
- 3 alarm calls
- 3 noise complaints
- 2 missing person calls
- 4 medical assist calls

- 15 theft calls
- 4 shoplifting calls
- 2 theft of vehicle calls
- 2 mischief calls
- 1 fraud call
- 9 motor vehicle collisions
- 4 driving complaints
- 18 suspicious activity calls
- 1 trespass/prowler call
- 1 drug call
There were 6 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 4 men and 2 women, between 17 and 39 years of age, for the following: uttering threats, harassment by repeated communication, assault, mischief, forcible confinement, robbery, kidnapping, assault cause bodily harm, possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, theft, breach recognizance, and breach probation. Two persons were arrested on warrants.

Man Arrested After Violent Attack on Parents

An 18-year-old local man has been arrested a violent attack on his parents in their west end home.
On January 24, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m. the accused returned home and began yelling and smashing things with a hockey stick. The accused shoved his mother in the chest when she attempted to calm him down and hit his step-father in the arm and side of the head with the hockey stick. The accused continued his rampage, grabbing a knife and stabbing it into a bathroom door while threatening to slit the victim’s throats if they called police. He then brought out a loaded crossbow which he pointed at the victims and later fired into a hallway wall. When the accused started to reload the crossbow the step-father attempted to disarm him and was violently attacked. When the accused went downstairs the victims fled and attended Kingston General Hospital for treatment of injuries.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. police were contacted and officers responded to the residence and setup containment. The emergency response unit was called out and at approximately 9:00 a.m. the accused came outside to surrender.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with assault, assault cause bodily harm, two counts of uttering threats, possession of a weapon, mischief, and three counts of assault with a weapon.
Youth Arrested for On-Going Domestic Harassment and Violence

A 17-year-old local youth is facing multiple charges after police learn of on-going harassment and violence towards her ex-boyfriend.
On January 24, 2018 the victim contacted police regarding on-going harassment by his ex-girlfriend. The victim reported that since they broke up approximately one month ago, the accused has repeatedly messaged and called him, and that she refuses to leave him alone.
An investigation revealed a history of harassment and violence dating back to January 2017 when the victim woke up to the accused attempting to choke him. In June 2017 the accused punched the victim twice during an argument, and in January 2018 the accused sent the victim a message and made phone calls threatening to kill him and his family.
On January 24, 2018 the accused was located at her residence. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with uttering threats, harassment by repeated communication, two counts of assault, and mischief.
Update: Police Searching for 5 Men Wanted in Relation to Violent Robbery

On January 24, 2018 police attended a residence on Barbara Avenue in an attempt to locate a 29-year-old local man wanted for the January 9, 2018 robbery. Police entered the residence on the strength of a Feeney Warrant and found the accused hiding inside the bottom of a small couch. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing. The accused is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and two counts of breach recognizance.
Police would like to thank citizens for their assistance and for the sharing of the media releases. The investigation continues as police search for the remaining suspect. PREVIOUS RELEASES:
On January 23, 2018 at approximately 8:00 a.m. the 27-year-old local accused attended a coffee shop on Princess Street. While in the restaurant the accused was recognized by several citizens as a result of recent media releases. Police responded to the restaurant and the accused was arrested. The accused was held pending a bail hearing and is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and breach probation.
On January 19, 2018, a 35-year-old Harrowsmith man wanted for the January 9, 2018 robbery was arrested. The accused was held pending a bail hearing and is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and breach probation.
On January 17, 2018, the 34-year-old local man wanted for the January 9, 2018 robbery was arrested. The accused was held pending a bail hearing and is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and breach probation.

On January 9, 2018 the victim was taken to a Lansdowne Street address where multiple suspects were involved in restraining, violently beating and robbing him. It is believed the suspects also forced him to empty his bank account.
On January 12, 2018 a 29-year-old local man was arrested and charged with robbery, forcible confinement, assault, kidnapping and breach of undertaking.
Through an on-going investigation Detectives have identified five other men involved in this incident. Grounds exist for their arrest and police are actively searching for them.
