Aggressive Female Cornwall Driver Collides With Tanker on 401 Near Brockville 031418

(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a female after a traffic complaint that lead to a collision.

On March 14, 2018 at about 5:10 A.M O.P.P officers received a call from a concerned citizen reporting an aggressive driver who was reportedly swerving towards transport vehicles on eastbound Highway 401. About five minutes later the involved vehicle collided with a tanker truck on Highway 401, east of Highway 137 in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township. Reports were that the female had fled on foot from the collision scene.

The 58 year old female driver from Cornwall was located about 1 kilometer away by OPP officers and was taken to hospital in Brockville for medical assessment. She has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving.

A portion of Highway 401 was closed briefly to allow for the investigation.
