Calls for Service
Kingston Police had 117 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on March 28, 2018. Of these, 84 calls occurred in the city central area, 17 in the west end, 5 in the east end, and 5 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:
- 3 domestic calls
- 1 assault call
- 1 sexual assault
- 9 harassment calls
- 2 fight/disturbance calls
- 5 undesirable calls
- 1 customer trouble call
- 4 alarm calls
- 8 noise complaints
- 4 trouble with kids calls
- 1 missing person call
- 2 Mental Health Act calls
- 5 medical assist calls
- 9 assist citizen calls
- 1 break and enter call
- 5 theft calls
- 3 shoplifting calls
- 2 theft of vehicle calls
- 2 mischief calls
- 4 motor vehicle collisions
- 3 driving complaints
- 2 traffic concerns
- 9 suspicious activity calls
- 1 trespass/prowler call
There were 8 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 6 men and 2 women, between 14 and 46 years of age, for the following: aggravated assault, utter threats, theft, public intoxication, breach undertaking, and breach probation. Two persons were arrested on warrant.

To further community awareness and improve accessibility to calls-for-police-service occurring in the community, Kingston Police has merged Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology with police calls-for-service data for user-friendly public consumption.
Kingston Police Launch App to Support Victims of Sexual Assault

The Sexual Assault Unit of Kingston Police is pleased to announce the official launch of our App, “Path of Strength” available for Apple and Android devices.
If you have been sexually assaulted or know someone who has been, this App offers readily available information and resources to help you navigate through this difficult time.
The Path of Strength App provides
- Where to find help including:
- Helpline phone numbers.
- Information on community and government support services available to you, including location and contact information.
- Safety planning.
- Learn about “what is consent” and sexual offences as defined under the Criminal Code.
- Details on how to report to police and what happens when you do.
- Information on your rights in the justice system and what you might expect going forward.
- And much more.

Dancing Incident Ends in Violent Assault

A 21-year-old Toronto man has been charged after assaulting a victim over a dancing incident at a downtown bar.
On March 9, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m. the victim was at a bar on Princess Street. The victim was dancing with friends when there was an interaction with the accused. The accused became angry at the group and when the victim was looking away, the accused punched him in the jaw knocking the victim to the floor. The victim suffered a serious injury and required medical attention.
The incident was reported at a later date and after an investigation Detectives were able to identify the accused.
On March 28, 2018 the accused was located and arrested. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was later released on conditions with a future court date.
The accused was charged with aggravated assault.
