UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Lunenburg woman and a 37-year-old Cornwall man were arrested on April 26th, 2018 and charged with mischief under $5000. The woman was also charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on April 26th, 2018 the woman attended the residence of the above-mentioned man and attempted to hit him with her car. During the altercation, the woman allegedly assaulted the man with a pair of goggles and damaged a lamp. Further, it is alleged the man caused damage to the woman’s vehicle and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 22nd, 2018. Their names were not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
WARRANT, THEFT UNDER, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Scottie Brownell-Lauzon, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on April 26th, 2018 on the strength of warrant. The man was also charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation & undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 27th, 2018 the man was in possession of a stolen electronic device and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged on March 28th and 29th, 2018 the man attended a Water Street store and removed merchandise from the store, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. On April 26th, 2018 the man attended the Cornwall Community Police Service for fingerprints for an unrelated matter. He was taken in to custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ROBBERY, POINTING A FIREARM, UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF A FIREARM
Cornwall, ON – Marc Clement, 44, and Amanda Clement, 43, both of Cornwall, were arrested and charged with robbery, pointing a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. It is alleged on April 22nd, 2018 the man and woman robbed a food delivery driver, all the while brandishing a handgun. Police were contacted and an extensive investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division conducted. On April 26th, 2018 both were located by police, taken into custody, and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing and the woman was released to appear in court on May 31st, 2018.
FRAUD, UNLAWFUL USE OF A CREDIT CARD, THEFT UNDER
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a credit card, fraud under $5000, and theft under $5000. It is alleged on April 11th, 2018 the youth used a credit card that did not belong to him for various purchases. Further, it is alleged on April 21st, 2018 the youth attended a Second Street East store and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 26th, 2018, police located the youth. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth and a 16-year-old Green Valley youth were both arrested on April 27th, 2018 and charged with theft of a motor vehicle. The 17-year-old youth was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime and the 16-year-old youth was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 26th, 2018 the youths took a vehicle, belonging to a person unknown to them without permission, and police were contacted. On April 27th, 2018 police located the youths, at which time the 16-year-old was found to be in possession of a stolen set of keys. The youths were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE & MARIJUANA
Cornwall, ON – Jean Mitchell, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on April 27th, 2018 and charged with possession of methamphetamine (speed) and marijuana. It is alleged on April 28th, 2018 while investigating an unrelated matter, the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of speed and marijuana. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 29th, 2018.
