AUTHORITIES IN CANADA AND US MAKE ARREST IN MULTI-JURISDICTION INVESTIGATION
(SOUTH DUNDAS AND SOUTH STORMONT, TOWNSHIP) – On April 24, 2018, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Crime Unit executed two Criminal Code Search Warrants at two residences in South Dundas and South Stormont Townships.
The nine month multijurisdictional investigation was completed with the assistance of the OPP SD&G, United States (US) Capitol Police, US Department of Homeland Security, Brantford Police and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The investigation stemmed from numerous indecent and sexually violent phone calls to various people and agencies in Canada and the United States.
As a result of the investigation Ryan MUNROE, 26-years-old of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (26) was arrested and charged with:;
– Indecent Communications contrary to Section 372(2) the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) (six counts);
– Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm contrary to Section 264.1 (1)(a) of the CC; and with
– Public Mischief contrary to Section 140(1)(c) of the CC (two counts).
He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 25, 2018.
