SD&G OPP NEWS
(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 535 calls for service from Tuesday June 26, 2018 to Tuesday July 3, 2018.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On June 26, 2018 at approximately 9:38pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 1 in South Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Janet ADAMS (40) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 12, 2018.
DOMESTIC- BREACH OF CONDITIONS
(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On June 27, 2018 at approximately 8:15am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult female had breached previous release conditions.
A 55-year-old female of North Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking (3 counts)
– Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on July 24, 2018.
DOMESTIC- MISCHIEF
(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On June 27, 2018 at approximately 7:38pm Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male and adult female had caused damage to the each other’s property.
A 35-year-old male of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief (2 counts)
A 33-year-old female of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief
Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on July 10, 2018.
ASSAULT- DOMESTIC
(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On June 27, 2018 at approximately 9:39pm Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend and restricted her from leaving the premises.
A 39-year-old male of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
– Forcible confinement (2 counts)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on July 24, 2018.
TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES
(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On June 28, 2018 at approximately 10:28pm, Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officer attempted stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The vehicle failed to comply with the request and continued on until it was successfully intercepted by officers on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Robert LONGCHAMPS (24) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:
– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood
– Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
– Flight while pursued by peace officers
– Stunt Driving – 186km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway Traffic Act)
He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 17, 2018.
THREATS
(NORTH STORMONT,ON) – On June 29, 2018 at approximately 10:50 am, Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a threatening incident at a business on Allaire Road, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male threatened a co-worker at the location.
Nicolas LAUZON (37) South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Uttering Threats
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
(NORTH STORMONT,ON) – On June 29, 2018 at approximately 11:48am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 12 in North Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Cynthia SAMPSON (47) of North Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 12, 2018.
CORECTION: IMPAIRED DRIVER
IMPAIRED CHARGE NOT LAID
(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On June 29, 2018 at approximately 11:38pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Baker Road in North Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Jacob SCHOENFELD (22) of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to Remain (Highway Traffic Act)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on August 21, 2018.
The OPP apologizes for the error.
ASSAULT- DOMESTIC
(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On June 29, 2018 at approximately 1:43pm Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend. The male was also breaching conditions and had a quantity of Marihuana.
A 31-year-old male of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order
– Possession of a controlled substance
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on July 24, 2018.
ASSAULT- DOMESTIC
(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On July 2, 2018 at approximately 10:40am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend and restricted her from leaving the premises.
A 40-year-old male of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
– Forcible confinement (2 counts)
– Overcome resistance by attempting to choke
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on July 24, 2018.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(SD&G) – On June 27- July 3, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– June 27, 2018 – 4:12pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 151km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (37) from Montreal, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
– June 29, 2018 – 12:02am (North Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 155km/h(80km/h zone)(County Road 31). Male driver (20) from Fort Bay, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
– July 1, 2018 – 7:30am (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 159km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (33) from Toronto, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
– July 1, 2018 – 11:13am (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 155km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (28) from Lachine, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– July 2, 2018 – 8:32am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 168km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (53) from China was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– July 3, 2018 – 12:23am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 156km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Female driver (21) from South Stormont Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
