SD&G OPP NEWS
(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 198 calls for service from Tuesday August 7, 2018 to Friday August 10, 2018.
Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:
– 8 Motor Vehicle collision
– 17 calls for Police assistance
– 11- 911 calls
– 21 traffic complaints
– 4 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s
– 6 RIDE Programs
– 8 Domestic disputes
– 2 Assault calls
– 3 suspicious activity calls
– 8 theft calls
– 14 alarm calls
– 5 Break and enter calls
– 1 Impaired driving occurrences
– 1 uttering threats calls
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – On August 7, 2018 at approximately 7:52pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a 911 call in South Dundas Township.
Investigation indicated that an altercation occurred between a male and an adult female (girlfriend). The accused male assaulted the victim and also stole the victim cell phone.
Currently exist Reasonable & Probable Grounds to arrest a 39-year-old male from Ottawa, Ontario for the following offences;
– Assault
– Theft under
IMPAIRED DRIVER
(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – On August 9, 2018 at approximately 7:55pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Rd 31, South Dundas Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Patrick James HALL (43) of Laurentian Valley Township, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood\
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on September 4, 2018.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(SD&G) – August 7, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– At 2:46am (North Stormont); vehicle stopped traveling 140km/h (80km/h zone) (County Road 43). Female driver from Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
