ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON X 2, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, SEXUAL ASSAULT, THREATS x 3, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Frederico Belmonte, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on December 31st, 2018 and charged with the following:
• Assault
• Assault with a weapon x 2
• Forcible confinement
• Sexual assault
• Threats x 3
• Breach of probation (failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged during an argument on December 31st, 2018, he assaulted a man known to him using a belt and a toilet seat, as well as prevented the man from leaving the residence. It is further alleged the man sexually assaulted the victim and made threats to harm him and his family. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, was charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Long Sault youth was arrested on December 31st, 2018 and charged with assault. It is alleged on December 6th, 2018, the youth assaulted another youth who was known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On December 31st, 2018, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Colleen Cuddy, 54, of Manotick, ON was arrested on January 1st, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. Between December 20-22, 2018, it is alleged the woman removed a quantity of money and gift cards from a local clinic and police were contacted to investigate. On January 1st, 2019, the woman was taken into custody, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 31st, 2019.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Ronald Regnier, 46, of no fixed address was arrested on January 1st, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the man breached his probation and undertaking by failing to notify a change of address and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 1st, 2019, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON X 2
Cornwall, ON – Jeff Van der aa, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on January 2nd, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon x 2. It is alleged during an argument on December 19th, 2018, the man assaulted two men known to him using a shovel and police were contacted to investigate. On January 2nd, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 31st, 2019.
