Busy Day of Assaults, Scumbags, and Stabbing in Cornwall Ontario #CPS #CCPS June 28, 2019

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Karley Billard, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with aggravated assault.

On the morning of June 27th, 2019 at approximately 4:30 am, the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) received a call to attend the area of Pitt Street and Sixth Street as an injured man was found, requiring medical attention. He was subsequently airlifted to Ottawa with critical injuries, and has since been deemed to be in stable condition.

After a thorough investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Unit, police have been able to determine an altercation took place, where the woman is alleged to have stabbed the 39-year-old victim. The woman and the victim were both known to each other.

On June 27th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon, threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, the woman threatened to harm him, and subsequently assaulted him using a knife. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, THREATS, ASSAULT POLICE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jesilyn Crowder, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000, threats x 2, assault police, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged while at the hospital, the woman damaged a window, door and bed, as well as made threats to kill staff members. The woman further made threats to burn down the hospital and the police station. Police attended, at which time the woman assaulted a police officer. On June 27th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, ATTEMPT TO ADMINISTER A NOXIOUS SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Suzanne Seguin, 59, of Cornwall was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and attempting to administer a noxious substance. It is alleged on June 26th, 2019, the woman took a prescription drug that did not belong to her and attempted to administer the drug to someone with undue cause. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 27th, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 16th, 2019.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Erik Johnsen, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an argument with a man known to him, Johnsen struck the man using a bat and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 25th, 2019.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Cory Carriere, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to him, Carriere assaulted the man, causing him to seek medical attention for his injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 25th, 2019.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 27th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the youth attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and took the youth into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 28th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during the early morning hours on June 28th, 2019, the man assaulted his wife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

There were 62 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours. (8:00 am yesterday to 8:00 am this morning).
