SEXUAL ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 15th, 2019 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged the man sexually assaulted his ex-wife and police were contacted to investigate. On August 15th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 12th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
DOMESTIC BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 15th, 2019 and charged with three counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man was observed in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Desiree Bouchard, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on August 15th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking for consuming alcohol. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter, police located the intoxicated woman in breach of her conditions. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Mohsen Damghani, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on August 15th, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Fourteenth Street. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 27th, 2019.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 15th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend in January, the man assaulted her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 15th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
TWO ARRESTED IN DOMESTIC ASSAULT INCIDENT
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, both of Cornwall, were arrested on August 15th, 2019 as a result of a domestic dispute. The woman was charged with assault with a weapon and the man, her common-law husband, was charged with assault, possession of methamphetamine, as well as breach of probation for possessing weapons, drugs, and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation, the man assaulted his common-law wife, who assaulted him using a knife. Police were contacted and took both individuals into custody, at which time the man was found to be in possession of a knife, BB gun, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine. They were both charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 16th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, as well as breach of probation for contacting his ex-common-law wife, being within a certain distance of her and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on August 16th, 2019, the man entered his ex-common-law wife’s residence without permission and removed cigarettes before leaving the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
