WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Justin Pawis-Lepage, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on August 22nd, 2019 for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 9th, 2019 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Deruchie, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on September 8th, 2019, the man attended a Second Street convenience store and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 9th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.
THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with uttering threats. It is alleged on September 5th, 2019, the man made threats to harm his son and an investigation ensued. On September 9th, 2019, he was taken into custody, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 8th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – Jessica Latimer, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged during an argument with a woman known to her, she struck the woman with a beverage cup and further made threats to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 8th, 2019.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. On September 9th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 8th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old man of Lascelle, QC was arrested on September 9th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on October 12th, 2011 for a domestic assault charge, as well as on December 15th, 2011 for an obstruct offence and warrants were subsequently issued for his arrest. On September 9th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Montreal as the man was in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrants. The warrants were executed and the man was transported to Cornwall to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as the charges stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Brandy Gallagher, 41, of Loyalist, ON was arrested on September 9th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on May 7th, 2019 for a theft charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On September 9th, 2019 a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Brockville as the woman was in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and the woman was released to appear in court on October 24th, 2019.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to abide by house rules. It is alleged the youth failed to attend school and left her residence during the night, despite her conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On September 9th, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
ASSAULT POLICE X 2, RESIST ARREST, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – John Pecore, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with the following:
• Assault police x 2
• Resist arrest
• Breach of recognizance for consuming drugs
• Breach of probation for consuming drugs and failing to keep the peace
It is alleged the man had consumed drugs, despite his conditions, and while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man assaulted two police officers. The man was taken into custody after a brief struggle, was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
