Busy Weekend for Cornwall Police #CPS Blotter 091619

HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 13th, 2019 and charged with harassing communications. It is alleged throughout September, the woman had repeatedly sent messages to her ex-boyfriend, despite being warned not to contact him by police. An investigation ensued and on September 13th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 1st, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Mark Tyo, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Ninth Street and Sydney Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 1st, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Richard Marini, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 14th, 2019, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000 X 4, PERSONATION, TRESPASS AT NIGHT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Claire Lafaille, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for shoplifting at a Sydney Street business. She was also charged with the following:

• Theft under $5000 x 4
• Trespassing at night
• Personation to avoid arrest
• Breach of recognizance x 7 for attending a certain business and failing to remain in her residence

It is alleged on four occasions throughout September, the woman attended three businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempts to pay for the items as she left the stores. Police located the woman on September 14th, 2019, at which time she was observed trespassing. She was taken into custody, at which time she provided a false name to police. Her warrant was executed and the woman was charged accordingly. She was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 15th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, as well as breach of recognizance for contacting and being within 200 metres of her ex-boyfriend. She was also charged with two counts of breach of peace bond for contacting him and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman assaulted her ex-boyfriend during an argument on September 10th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On September 15th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 15th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court for a mischief offence. He was also charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend and attending her residence. It is alleged while police were responding to a disturbance call on September 15th, the man was located at his girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions. An investigation ensued, resulting in the man being taken into custody and the warrant being executed. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Belanger-Boudrias, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on September 16th, 2019 and charged with assault. She was also charged with breach of probation for being within 20 metres of a certain place and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 26th, the woman attended a certain area, despite her conditions, and assaulted a man known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 16th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 15th, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 16th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on September 3rd, 2019 for domestic breaches and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop during the early morning hours on September 16th. The warrant was executed and the man remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as the breaches steam from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.
