DRUG WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – On September 25th, 2019, members of the Cornwall Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at a Water Street residence. As a result of the investigation, three men were taken into custody. A quantity of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and ammunition was seized, in addition to a quantity of Canadian currency. The combined street value of the drugs and currency is estimated to be approximately $7170.00. During the investigation, two of the men had also been carrying concealed knives on them.
The men were charged as follows:
Junior Tran, 25, of Ottawa:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Careless storage of ammunition
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
• Breach of recognizance x 3 (for possessing weapons, drugs and failing to notify a change of address to police)
Tyjah Smith, 24, of Ottawa:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
• Careless storage of ammunition
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Cody Barber, 26, of Cornwall:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Careless storage of ammunition
• Breach of undertaking x 2 (for possessing weapons and drugs)
All three men were taken into custody on September 25th, 2019, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
