ASSAULT POLICE, DISARM POLICE, ASSAULT, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 3rd, 2020 and charged with the following:
• Assault police
• Disarm police
• Assault
• Mischief under $5000
• Breach of youth probation x 2 (for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on December 31st, 2019, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man assaulted a police officer and attempted to disarm a police officer of his firearm. It is further alleged on January 2nd, 2020, while at the hospital, the man assaulted someone he did not know and damaged a door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 3rd, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Lise Dufresne, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on January 3rd, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the woman took a wallet from someone known to her without their permission, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 4th, 2020.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Kyle Dussiaume, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on January 3rd, 2020 and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for failing to sign in to police. It is alleged on December 1st, 2019 and January 1st, 2020, the man failed to sign in to police, despite his conditions. An investigation ensued and on January 3rd, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 11th, 2020.
POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE
Cornwall, ON – Crystal Bjergso, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 3rd, 2020 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, cocaine. It is alleged on January 3rd, 2020, police were called to a disturbance where the woman was located in possession of a quantity of cocaine. She was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 23rd, 2020.
ASSAULT, INDECENT ACT, THREATS, ASSAULT POLICE X 2, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Justin Gibson, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on January 4th, 2020 and charged with the following:
• Assault
• Indecent act
• Threats
• Assault police x 2
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on January 4th, 2020, while police were investigating a suspicious person complaint, the intoxicated man assaulted a woman he did not know, as well as assaulted two police officers, made threats to kill one of the officers, and exposed himself to police. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 11th, 2020.
THREATS, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – Trevor Williams, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on January 4th, 2020 and charged with threats, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to him on January 4th, he assaulted the man with a knife and threatened kill him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Nancy Hutt, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on January 4th, 2020 on the strength of multiple warrants. It is alleged between July and November, the woman attended a Marlborough Street and Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the stores. It is further alleged the woman had breached her recognizance by failing to remain in her residence. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for her arrest. On January 4th, 2020, the woman was located by police. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – Joel Giroux, 29, of Martintown was arrested on January 4th, 2020 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the man repeatedly contacted someone known to him between November and January, and police were contacted to investigate. On January 4th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 11th, 2020.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – Darryl Sirard, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on January 4th, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged on January 4th, during an altercation with someone known to him, he assaulted the individual with a piece of a door and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 11th, 2020.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 5th, 2020 and charged with six counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his mother, being within a certain distance of her, and attending her residence. It is alleged on December 25th, 2019 and January 5th, 2020, the man attended his mother’s residence, despite his conditions. Police were contacted and took the man into custody on January 5th. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Darryl Markell, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on January 5th, 2020 and charged with criminal harassment, as well as breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man repeatedly contacted someone known to him, despite being warned not to by police. On January 5th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 11th, 2020.
BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 5th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man entered his girlfriend’s residence without her permission, and damaged a door in doing so. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
