WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Jamie Hitsman, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on January 20th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 17th, 2020 for breach offences and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 20th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT, FRAUD UNDER $5000, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Mathew Brown, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on January 20th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant for breaching his probation. He was also charged with the following:
• Fraud under $5000
• Utter forged document
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace
• Breach of probation x 2 for failing to keep the peace
It is alleged on September 26th, 2019, the man was in possession of a cheque that did not belong to him, and further deposited the forged cheque into his bank account. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 20th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Gilles Desforges, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on January 20th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 20th, 2020, the man attended a Thirteenth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.
WARRANT, POSSESSION OF COCAINE
Cornwall, ON – Denise Portieous-Jodoin, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on January 20th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to sign in to police in September 2019, despite her conditions, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 20th, 2020 police located the woman and took her into custody on the strength of the warrant, at which time she was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THREATS, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 20th, 2020 and charged with uttering threats and breach of court order for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on January 16th, 2020, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, as well as made threats to damage her vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 20th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Adam Kerr, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on January 20th, 2020 and charged with assault. It is alleged the man assaulted someone he did not know during an altercation on January 19th, 2020. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 20th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 25th, 2020.
