Cornwall Police React to CFN Disclosure Pressure – Attempted Murder of Senior & Impaired Info Released 020320 #CPS

WARRANT, FAIL TO APPEAR PRINTS, THEFT UNDER $5000, ASSAULT POLICE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Lalonde, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on January 31st, 2020 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court on January 21st, 2020. She was also charged with the following:

• Failing to appear for prints
• Theft under $5000
• Assault police
• Breach of probation x 2 for failing to keep the peace

It is alleged on December 23rd, 2019, the woman failed to attend police headquarters for prints and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on January 31st, 2020, the woman took several items from a man known to her, without his permission, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation she was taken into custody, at which time she attempted to assault a police officer. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Burles, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on January 31st, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 30th, 2020 for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 31st, 2020, the warrant was executed while the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Andrew Bourbonnais, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on January 31st, 2020 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged while at the hospital on December 17th, 2019, the man damaged a piece of medical equipment and police were contacted to investigate. On January 31st, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 31st, 2020 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged during an altercation with another youth on January 22nd, 2020, he assaulted the other youth, causing an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 31st, 2020, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO APPEAR FOR PRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on January 31st, 2020 and charged with failing to appear for prints, as well as three counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 23rd, 2020, the man failed to attend police headquarters for prints, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. On January 31st, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 10th, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Timothy McCormick, 38, of Mallorytown was arrested on January 31st, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on April 5th, 2019 for breaches and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 31st, 2020, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Ottawa as the man was in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and the man was transported to Cornwall to await a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Philippe Routhier, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on January 31st, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80, as well as breach of undertaking for consuming alcohol. While police were conducting a RIDE program on January 31st, the man was observed to be allegedly operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Evan Lantry, 19, of Massena, NY was arrested on February 1st, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Second Street East and Glengarry Boulevard. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Shawn Ettinger, 31, of Laval, QC was arrested on February 1st, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Queen Street and Dover Road. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.

BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT UNDER $5000, ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Boni Dean, 47, of Ottawa and Tanya Smith, 46, of Chesterville were both arrested on February 1st, 2020 and charged with break and enter. Boni Dean was also charged with assault, while Tanya Smith was also charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 1st, 2020, both women entered the residence of someone known to them, without permission. While in the residence, the victim was assaulted by one of the women, and had her phone taken by the other. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, both women were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Evan Jarvis, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on February 1st, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 1st, 2020, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on February 13th, 2020.

ATTEMPT MURDER, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 2nd, 2020 and charged with attempt murder and assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with a 70-year-old family member on the night of February 1st, the man assaulted the victim with a knife. Police attended and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and remained in police custody to await a bail hearing. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Trevor Williams, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on February 2nd, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Grand Avenue and Tenth Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 25th, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Melissa Stroud, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on February 2nd, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on October 29th, 2019, the woman attended multiple businesses and fraudulently made purchases with a credit card that did not belong to her. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On February 2nd, 2020, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 12th, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man of Hogansburg, NY was arrested on February 2nd, 2020 and charged with three counts of breach of court order for attending the city of Cornwall, contacting his mother, and being within 100 metres of her. It is alleged on February 2nd, 2020, the man attended his mother’s residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
