SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Stephen Lefebvre, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on February 14th, 2020 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on December 21st, 2020, the man sexually assaulted a woman known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On February 14th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 12th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Tryon, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on February 14th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000, breach of probation for failing to keep the peace, and breach of release order for failing to abide by a curfew. It is alleged on February 7th, 2020, the woman attended a Ninth Street business, outside of the hours of her curfew, and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 14th, 2020, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 12th, 2020.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 14th, 2020 and charged with assault. It is alleged on January 15th, the youth assaulted a 12-year-old youth he did not know and police were contacted to investigate. On February 14th, 2020, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Deruchie, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on February 14th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 14th, 2020, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 26th, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Saul Alonso, 36, of no-fixed-address was arrested on February 15th, 2020 and charged with two counts of breach of release order for failing to reside at a certain address and failing to notify a change of address to police. He was also charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address to police and for consuming alcohol. It is alleged on February 15th, 2020, police were called to investigate a suspicious person and located the intoxicated man. An investigation ensued where it was learned the man had allegedly breached his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Steven Dufresne, 51, of Cornwall was arrested on February 15th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 22nd, 2020, the man attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 15th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 17th, 2020.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Richard Landry, 62, of Cornwall was arrested on February 15th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of McConnell Avenue and Service Road and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 25th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Viau-Seguin, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on February 16th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 15th, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 16th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2020.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 16th, 2020 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, threats, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument with his mother on February 16th, the man assaulted her and threw a pot at her. It is further alleged the man made threats to kill the woman and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 17th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

REFUSAL TO COMPLY, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, BREACH, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Amber Roach, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on February 17th, 2020 and charged with the following:

• Refusal to comply with demand
• Operation while prohibited x 2
• Resist police
• Breach of probation x 3 for failing to keep the peace
• Breach of release order x 2 for operating a motor vehicle and consuming alcohol

It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle, despite being prohibited from doing so, in the area of Montreal Road and Gloucester Street. Police conducted a traffic stop, at which time the woman attempted to flee the area by resisting police. The woman also allegedly refused to provide a proper sample of her breath upon demand. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Burles, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on February 17th, 2020 and charged with the following:

• Theft under $5000 x 3
• Breach of probation x 15 (for attending a certain business and failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of release order (for failing to reside at a certain residence)

It is alleged on January 16th, February 7th, and February 9th, the man attended two businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the stores on any occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 17th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Richard Hesse-Andre, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on February 18th, 2020 and charged with threats and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 17th, the man made threats to harm someone he does not know and police were contacted to investigate. On February 18th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 24th, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 18th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged between January 17-18, 2020, during an altercation with his common-law-wife, the man assaulted her on two occasions and damaged an electronic device belonging to her. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 18th, 2020, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
