MARCH 21, 2022 – The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial (OPP) crime unit has arrested three young people following an investigation into criminal harassment in the South Glengarry Township.
On March 5, 2022, the SD&G OPP Crime Unit initiated an investigation regarding an historical criminal harassment and on March 10, 2022 two female young people a male youth were arrested and charged for criminal harassment related offences.
A female youth (age 14) of South Glengarry is charged with:
• Counselling suicide – No loss of life – Criminal Code (CC) sec. 241(a)
• Uttering threats – CC sec. 264.1(1) (a)
• Criminal Harassment – repeatedly communicate – CC sec. 264(2) (b)
• Mischief under $ 5,000 – CC sec. 430(4)
A female youth (age 14) of Cornwall is charged with;
• Counselling suicide – No loss of life CC 241(a)
• Criminal Harassment – repeatedly communicate CC 264(2) (b)
A male youth (age 16) of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offence;
• Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property CC 430(1) (c)
All three of the accused are scheduled to appear at the Cornwall Youth Justice Court at future dates.
The names of the accused cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
