BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Reid Dorcas, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on February 2nd, 2015 and charged with breaching his recognizance for not reporting to Toronto Police Service as directed. It is alleged that the man failed to report as directed and an investigation ensued. On February 2nd, 2015 the man was located at an Alice Street residence, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE, POSSESSION
Cornwall, ON – William Poitras, 59 and Stephanie Kirker, 29 both of Cornwall were arrested on February 2nd, 2015 and charged with the following:
· Possession of Cocaine
· Possession of Fentanyl
· Possession of Hydromorphone
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking Hydromorphone
Kirker was also charged with breaching her probation orders for being in the company of someone that she has conditions not to associate with and for failing to keep the peace. Poitras was also charged with property obtained by crime (Canadian currency).
It is alleged that on February 2nd, 2015 members of the Cornwall Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at a Pitt Street address and located a quantity of Cocaine, Fentinyl and Hydromorphone. As a result both Poitras and Kirker were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 19th, 2015.
BREAK AND ENTER, UTTERING FORGED DOCUMENTS, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Evan Lapointe, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on February 2nd, 2015 and charged with break and enter, uttering forged documents, theft under $5000 and breach of probation and recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on January 9th, 2015 the man entered an Alguire Street residence and removed property that did not belong to him including cheques that he later cashed. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 2nd, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 19th, 2015.

YOUTH CHARGED WITH SEVERAL OFFENCES
(North Dundas) – On January 22, 2015 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an assault investigation involving a male youth. Investigation indicated that between January 19-22, 2015, the male had assaulted, threatened and harassed two (2) female youths while traveling on a school bus.
On January 28, 2015 the 15-year-old male from North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault (2 counts)
– Sexual Assault (4 counts)
– Utter Threats (2 counts)
– Criminal Harassment (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 26, 2015.
MISCHIEF
(South Glengarry) – On January 12, 2015 SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of mischief to a vehicle at a property on County Road 20, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that overnight (January 11-12, 2015), a vehicle was forcibly entered and damaged.
On January 19, 2015 a 17-year-old male youth from South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief Under $5000
– Fail to Comply with a Probation Order
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 12, 2015.
DRUGS SEIZED AT R.I.D.E.
(South Dundas) – On February 2, 2015 at approximately 8:54pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduced Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) vehicle checks at the intersection of Brinston Road and County Road 16. A check of a vehicle with two (2) male occupants resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cash and suspected marihuana and cocaine. Both occupants initially provided false information to officers.
The male driver, Drew PILON (25) of Prescott, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
– Obstruct Peace Officer
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on March 3, 2015.
The passenger, Nicholas PLACE (25) of South Dundas Township was also arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest
– Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (2 counts)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (February 3, 2015).
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(South Stormont) – On February 2, 2015 at approximately 8:35am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Pine Street, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male youth and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted. He also caused damage with the home.
The 17-year-old male was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault with a Weapon (item thrown at victim) – Spousal
– Mischief – Domestic
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 31, 2015.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
(Hawkesbury, ON) – In the early morning of Sunday February 1st, shortly after 2 am, Hawkesbury OPP officers intercepted a black Hyundai Accent on Main Street East in Hawkesbury.
Interaction with the female driver gave the officer reason to believe that she had was driving her motor vehicle with blood alcohol content over the legal limit. Furthermore, the driver was a novice driver which stipulates that she was not permitted any alcohol in her blood while driving.
Consequently, the driver, Sarah-Jade TOUZIN (21 yrs) of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canadawith section 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood.
She was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with section HTA 44.1(5) Young driver – B.A.C. above zero.
She was later released and scheduled to appear at court in February 25th, 2015 in L’Orignal.
THEFT OF UTILITY TRAILERS
(East-Hawkesbury, ON) Hawkesbury OPP officers were dispatched to the scene of a theft on Friday January 3oth at 8:30 am at the Voyageur Park situated on Front Road in East-Hawkesbury.
An employee of the park noticed the theft and called police.
Investigation into the matter revealed that someone broke into the park by the main gate most likely in the early evening, and stole 2 double wheeled utility trailers that were parked in the maintenance area.
Description:
Trailer No. 1: 2012 black, United, boxed utility trailer, 7 ft. x 16 ft., flat front with ramp door at the back, plate of Ontario J8688X, VIN No. 48BTE1625CA124802, value approximately $5,000.
Trailer No. 2: 2014 black, United, boxed utility trailer, 7 ft. x 16 ft., flat front with ramp door at the back, no licence plate, VIN No. 56JTE1625EA136637, value of approximately $5,400.

SUSPENDED DRIVER IN EAST-HAWKESBURY
(East-Hawkesbury, ON) On January 27th 2015, in the Township of East-Hawkesbury, while on patrol on County Road #17, OPP Constable Marc Lauzon intercepted a black 2012 Mazda 3 for verification.
The traffic stop revealed that the driver of the vehicle was suspended from driving in the Province of Québec and also had another suspension from driving in the Province of Ontario.
Patrick SARAZIN (27 yrs) of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC, was charged under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act with the following sections:
– Section 53(1) of the for Driving while under suspension.
– Section 36 – Driving under licence of other jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario
The vehicle was towed and seized.
He is scheduled to appear at the L’Orignal Court on March 5th .
RESIDENTIAL INSPECTIONS A SUCCESS
Safeguard Ontario – Door Knock Program
(Hawkesbury, ON) In the evening of January 21st, 2015, the Auxiliary Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a proactive “door knock” campaign where the Safeguard Ontario Program was introduced and offered to citizens.
The aim of this prevention initiative that has been offered since last year, is to educate and tool community members with information on how to protect their properties. Prevention flyers are distributed and residents can request a risk assessment of their residence in order to increase its safety against crimes.
On that particular evening, the Unit attended a total of 72 households in the lower section of the Town of Hawkesbury. Out of these 72 residences, 21 requested a risk assessment. The inspections, which are quite extensive, will be done over a period of time. Other households were also contemplating using this free service.
The organizers of this first proactive campaign declared this as a success. In light of the response from the community, the Hawkesbury OPP Auxiliary Unit will be conducting this approach on a more frequent basis.

THEFT OF COPPER WIRES
(Vankleek Hill, ON) The Hawkesbury OPP is investigating a theft of copper wires at the Hydro One compound situated on Highway 34 in Vankleek Hill. The theft, believed to have occurred in the previous days, was reported in the morning of Monday January 26.
Someone gained entry by cutting into a chain linked fence. Four spools of copper wires, estimated at more than $6000 were stolen.
Constable Mario Bourgeois of the Hawkesbury OPP is investigating.
YOUTH CHARGED WITH SEXUAL OFFENCES
(South Glengarry) – On January 3, 2015 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit officers began an investigation into reported sexual offences occurring at a residence on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that between June 2013 and January 2015, a male youth repeatedly engaged in sexual related incidents which involved another male and female youths.
The 16-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested on January 9th and is charged with;
– Sexual Assault (2 counts)
– Invitation to Sexual Touching (3 counts)
– Sexual Interference (2 counts)
– Indecent Exposure (2 counts)
– Make Sexually Explicit Material (2 counts)
– Distribution of Child Pornography
– Utter Threats ( 2 counts)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 12, 2015.
IMPAIRED DRIVERS
(South Dundas) – On January 30, 2015 at approximately 7:38pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a request to assist a Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) officer on Boathouse Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that the MNR officer had intercepted an adult male on an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). Further investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was turned over to SD&G OPP officers.
Kyle HUTCHISON (21) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on March 3, 2015.
(South Stormont) – On February 1, 2015 at approximately 11:19pm, an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to check a commercial vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 401, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the male driver was under the influence of alcohol. Further information revealed that his driving privileges were disqualified and suspended stemming from previous incidents.
Stephen ARMSTRONG (30) of North Grenville, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Driving while Disqualified (2 counts)
– Driving while Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (February 2, 2015).
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(North Glengarry) – On February 1, 2015 at approximately 6:37am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Skye Road, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his common-law spouse resulted in the female being assaulted. Further information revealed an additional incident in 2012.
The 42-year-old male was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault – Spousal (2 counts)
