Blood for Oil – Libyan Lockerbie Bomber Released in Oil Deal

The pic is of the Memorial in Lockerbie Scotland for the victims of the Terrorist attack that led to the deaths of hundreds of victims.  270 people died from Pan Am flight 103 being brought down.

Recently one of the convicted terrorists was allowed to return to Libya to serve the end of his sentence there as he has prostate cancer.   Normally this wouldn’t happen, but BP needed to close a deal so the British government caved in and allowed the prisoner to return.

For more on the story click this L I N K.   The law is never fair.  It’s always about money.

“The British government decided it was “in the overwhelming interests of the United Kingdom” to make Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber, eligible for return to Libya, leaked ministerial letters reveal.”

This is such a slippery slope.   Sadly the value of human lives seems to be diminishing in our world.   Monsters should not be embraced.   I feel very sad that this sort of thing has happened.   We as people really need to think about what we allow our governments to do and allow.

What do you think about this Cornwall?  How would you feel if this had happened in Canada?

    Whatcha mean Clifford?

  3. I mean exactly that, the title of the article is “Blood for Oil – Libyan Lockerbie Bomber Released in Oil Deal”. What were the details of this oil deal? I saw nothing mentioned about any oil deal in the article.. Only that the UK unanimously found it in their best interests to send him back to Libya. Actually I just noticed there is a link in the middle of the article so Ill have a look at that. But I just wanted to know what this had to do with oil based on what was reported on this site.

  4. Ah, that’s where the real story is, in that link, now I understand. 🙂

    Hi Clifford,

The link explains that essentially the UK government allowed the Lockerbie monster to be included in a prisoner swap in exchange for a BP deal in Libya to move forward. Thus Blood for Oil.

  6. Yeah, just that wasn’t in the actual news story on your site. It was however included in the link for more info. Just a humble opinion on my part, but if you’re going to report blood for oil, you should have that as part of the main story, not a link, otherwise you may have what happened with me, happening with someone else. 😉 Otherwise excellent job so far! 😀
