Colonel Russell Williams Charged with Double Murder – Trenton Air Force Base – Ottawa Ontario – February 9, 2010

It’s like an episode of one of those American crime shows.   Decorated Canadian Air Force Colonel.  Two murdered women.

Williams, a 23-year military veteran, was appointed as the base commander of Canadian Forces Base Trenton in Trenton, Ontario last July. Trenton is Canada’s busiest Air Force base and is providing logistical support for Canada’s missions in Haiti and Afghanistan as well as support for the Vancouver Winter Games.

Williams is charged with the first-degree murder of Jessica Lloyd, 27, of a Belleville, Ontario, resident whose body was found earlier Monday, and Marie Comeau, a 38-year-old corporal found dead in her Brighton, Ontario, home in November.

Authorities said Williams came to the attention of police during a roadside canvas on Feb. 4, six days after Lloyd was deemed missing.

Williams is also charged with forcible confinement, breaking and entering and sexual assault after two women were sexually assaulted during two separate home invasions in the Tweed, Ontario area in September of 2009.

“We’re shocked by the connection that has been made with a leader in our Air Force,” Maj. Gen. Yvan Blondin, the direct commander of Williams, said in Trenton.

The shocker has people across Canada talking as the allegations ripple through the community in between Kingston and Toronto Ontario.

Colonel Williams recently was pictured shaking hands with Peter MacKay during the Haiti mission.   He was arrested in his Ottawa home and will face court February 18.

Another whack-job looking for free room-and-board for the rest of his life.

Unbelieveable! My thoughts and prayers are with friends and family of all victims. As well to the poor gentleman from Tweed who was firstly thought to be the preditor.
Russell Williams is one sick psychopath and I can not believe he was living in our community.

So do you guys want to lead the charge to storm the jail where they are keeping Colonel Williams and hang him on the closest tree, or can you wait until all the evidence is in and he is actually convicted of a crime.

Unfortunately Reg, he must be mentally unbalanced and in need of psychiatric help. He’s actually confessed already. He led the O.P.P. to the body of Jessica Lloyd and gave police a detailed statement of his invovement in about four-dozen lingerie break-ins. The police are checking wherever he’s been in the past and are checking all cold-cases from those areas.

As with any field of human endeavour, the activities of Mr. Williams serve to remind us that the Military is a complex organization of all kinds of people and has its share of Heroes, Saints, Martyrs and Scoundrels. Mr. Williams happens to be one of the scoundrels. The fact that he exists should not come as a surprise but also should not distract us from the exemplary work done by the heroes and saints of which the military has many.

Every military person is at some level trained to kill. While horrible as this case may be when you spend thousands of dollars training people to kill how freaked out can you be when every so often one of these people’s wires burn out?

Our species is based on killing. Nature in our world is one species eating another in most cases. Sometimes Nature can be ugly.

Funny how some of you peoples are quick tomake your mind uo on Colonel Wiiliams. You have already charged him, accused him, condemmed him, And now ibelieve that some of you,Are ready to excecude him.And this is all done without even waiting till we get all the fact. Many peoples have been wrongly accused and put to death due to a lots of made up accuation by the police forces who some of them were determined to find these non guilty at all cost.So to all of you peoples just use your brain, that is if there is one,Before jumping the gun and have this man found guilty. The Polices have not made any comments ,and have not found him guilty,so why then the public so anxious in making up their mind.A PERSON IS INNOCENT UNTIL FOUND GUILTY!!!!

elm_city, Colonel Williams has now retained the services of top criminal lawyer Michael Edelson up in Ottawa. He must be guilty for sure.

I Did not stated that he was`nt guilty.Just commented on peoples who have already made their mind up and ready for the execussion. At lest give him a chance to defend yourself. And as far as getting himself a lawer? Well would you also if you were in his shoes. And remember of how many persons have Charge,Found ,Guilty and put to death then it was found that lots of them were wrongly accused. How would you like this to happen to you.Amen

Your link doesn’t work elm_city. And again, he admitted to doing it. No one wants to be his executioner. In fact I believe many said that the Military should take care of this issue, since he is in the military. If they decide to execute him per military law, then so be it. (and with the black stain he just put on our military, its no wonder people want to donate the bullet) At least if the military handles it, the taxpayer wont be on the hook to pay the massive amounts of taxpayer money to incarcerate him on a yearly basis in a civilian prison.

I saw a artist rendering years ago of supposedly Paul Bernado that looks like Williams to me.

  15. Cornwall Harry   February 20, 2010 at 10:24 PM

    Were you drinking Pat?

  16. steve   February 21, 2010 at 12:58 PM

The military will not want anything to do with this situation, they will back off as quickly as possible, and do you blame them. They have tried so hard to gather public support these past years they will want nothing to do with Williams. It is my belief they cannot try him anyway, he could only serv 2 years less a day in the military prison. They cannot execute him either; I believe that is only for treason. This situation is a tragedy I personally feel nothing for this man but everything for the people both military and civilian in the Trenton area.
