Letter to the Editor – John Milnes on Muslims – South Stormont Ontario – September 13, 2010

Dear Sir:

Despite the apparent downsides of Islam there is much to applaud about this very old religion, 700 hundred years younger than Christianity.  From within our North American culture we do tend towards a worldly non-ecclesiatical way of living even as we recognize the Christian background shared by so many.  Where have all the Christian church-goers gone?

The main downside of Islam might be seen as the masculine dominance of the Muslim people who deny women recognition for the valuable role they play in maintaining the lineage of the sect.  Without women there would be no Muslim religion so why must the male sector deny women equality?  Is it fear?  Another weakness has been the clear inability of the Muslim people to deny the rights of their religion to those who are murdering innocents throughout the world.  Muslims are not the only people who have bad/mad folk in their midst, Christians have their fair share.  Just look at Pastor Jones.  However, the difference lies in the fact that so many of the murders are carried out in the name of Islam.

The followers of the Islamic way of life must put aside their very Canadian-like attitudes [not wanting to be seen as being ‘pushy’].  They must publicly deny those who murder innocents in the name of Islam; they must publicly and collectively deny that those murderers are of the Muslim religion. This may be the only chance there is to break down the murderous regime of the minority faction in their midst.  When the truth hits, and the murderers begin to understand they are denied a religious platform, then, and only then, might we expect to see a slow reduction in the crazy activities being played out as acts of terrorism in the name of religion.

The brutal acts being carried out in the name of Islam cannot be characterised as anything other than societal murders and they bring immense disgrace on a brotherhood of people believing in the same God the majority of North Americans believe in.  Catholics, Protestants, Jews or Muslims they all revere the same God.  The assassins, slayers of ordinary citizens, must not be legitimized on the basis of the Muslim religion.  The fanatics are supposedly refusing to allow anyone the right to a religious belonging of their choosing.  Unless the Islamic order determines to stand up for the peace loving majority then they will continue to live under a shroud of being wicked, cruel people.

To say this would be an understatement is, indeed, far from the truth for many North Americans already believe all Muslims are murderous, villainous people.  This is particularly true south of the border.  That Muslims are wicked people is far from the truth for there is considerable nobility within the religion and the Islamic teachings  have an ancient tradition of scholarship that demands respect.  The pity is that few in North America know much about this Eastern cult of practicing, differently and more ardently, the sacred rights of the pious.

The followers of Mohammed believe in his divine leadership just as those in our North American Christian society tend to believe that Jesus Christ has given them hallowed, heavenly guidance.  Whether Mohammed or Christ is the most powerful advocate of the Godly leanings of the religious is surely open to question.  However, those who fervently believe in the religious right to a here-after will never know which of these ancient leaders is the one they should have followed and, I guess, when the time comes it will matter not.

  1. Have you ever heard an Imam in a mosque blasting terrorists or suicide bombers? No! Muslim martyrs know that when they die “for Islam” (which they are not because they are just killers of innocent people) they will be tended by 72 virgins in Heaven. Unfortunately there is no guarantee that they will be female virgins……

  2. Mr.Milnes writes: “Catholics, Protestants, Jews or Muslims they all revere the same God”. Mr.Milnes you do greatly error in this statement. Answer the following questions, if you can:

Does the Jew and the Muslim believe in the triune God? No! Does the Jew or the Muslim believe in the deity of The Lord Jesus Christ? No! The Person of the God Holy Spirit? No! The literal resurrection of the Son of God? No! A Muslim has no concept of the love of God, nor that God can be their “Heavenly Father”. I could go on, and on! Just one more -a Muslim doesn’t believe that God has a Son, nor do they believe that God’s Son died on the cross. So a Muslim and an orthodox Jew does not see any need in a Saviour!

Again Mr.Milnes writes -“Whether Mohammed or Christ is the most powerful advocate of the Godly leanings of the religious is surely open to question”. Again Mr. Milners misses the boat. Who should I believe, Mr. Milnes or the Holy Word of God –

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also” (1 John 2:22-23).

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. 1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”.

Mr. Milnes and all Muslims should respect the elder Christian faith, in fact the Quran writes – Sura 29:46 states: “and dispute ye not with the People of the Book…but say: “we believe in the revelation which has come down to us and that which came down to you’.” God’s Word, the Holy Bible is the only and final Word from God – the Lord Jesus confirmed this by His life, His death, and His resurrection. The Lord Jesus is the Prophet that Moses spoke of that was to come!

  3. Mr. Milnes, we do not all worship the same God. Your view is sort of from that trans-faith project that declares all religions to be treated equal. That concept is sort of racist against my religion which claims to be the only true religion. I will do my best to pray for you but without a large donation I’m not sure how that will work out. See link for total and complete salvation.

wow, I’m thinking NoJJ is spamming us, but am bewildered about what he’s spamming us with??

  5. It’s pretty simple, Admin. If you send Bob $50.00 Bob will promise to have you rescued on X Day by the space vessels of the Sub-Genius. X Day is the harvest of the pinks. If you don’t want to be harvested obviously you need to send Bob $50.00 and Bob offers you a DOUBLE YOUR MONEY BACK OR NO GUARANTEE right up front. Beware the norms. Get out of your fake religions while you still can. If you haven’t heard the word then you don’t own a good dictionary.

  6. It’s racist to call the Church of The Sub-Genius spam by the way. It’s hurtful and makes me feel shame. I will give you this one terrific idea for your Seaway Radio show. I know you will take all the advertising money for yourself. Pity. Here – Magic Card Tricks. Develop a one hour show devoted to magic card tricks and ventriloquism. You owe me.
