Cornwall ON – She kissed a girl and she liked it. It’s tough writing about Coronation Street here in Canada without giving away stealers from the UK edition that’s months ahead of us.
I mean, here in Canada Blanche is still alive although not on screen any longer, but Maggie Hunt who portrayed the barbed tongue matriarch has long gone to that great TV set in the sky.
I’ve watched Corrie since 1978 so when my wife, who only started really watching in 2004 complains about this bit or that bit on Corrie I explain to her that there are always ebbs and flows in stories and sure enough she howls at some of the scenes like the recent cat fight between Rita and Audrey over Male Escort Lewis.
Brooke Vincent has been playing sis to Helen Flanagan since both were little girls. From Goth to Sex Toy on screen sis Rosie tends to suck up all the attention for the Webster family so producers and writers decided to go with the Teenage Lesbian story line.
Currently we have Steve & Becky and Anna and what’s his name that smokes those nasty thin ciggies looking at adoption while John Stape gets weirder and weirder, now using a friends id that he’s stolen to get a teaching gig. Graeme has yet to become a chick magnet, and Mary and Norris get weirder and weirder.
Lloyd has a new love interest. Simon is still a carbon copy of Charlie Chaplin from The Champ. Ken still walks Eccles the dog. Things keep ticking on Corrie, as they do in life, and that’s a good thing.
It’s interesting times in Corrie as we in Canada that don’t sneak peaks ahead get to ponder as Corrie prepares for its 50th Anniversary run.
What do you think Canadian Corrie fans? And are you going to any of the cast appearances this Spring? You can post your comment below.
