CFN – On May 30, 2011 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Bureau launched an investigation into a complaint that a woman had received unwanted contacts between December 2010 through May 2011 from an OPP officer.
As a result of the investigation on June 1, 2011, Provincial Constable Shane BUDGELL was charged with Criminal Harassment, contrary to the Criminal Code. The contacts occurred while he was on-duty and off-duty.
Provincial Constable BUDGELL is a 4-year-member of the OPP stationed at the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP Detachment and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 21, 2011. The member has been re-assigned administrative duties.

The investigation revealed that a 14yr old female was not abiding by the house rules. She wasarrested and faces a charge of: Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance She is scheduled to appear 23Jun11 in Cornwall court.
