FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred at the intersection of South Branch Road and McConnell Avenue shortly after 4:30 pm, on June 16, 2011. A motorcyclist was travelling westbound on South Branch Road and was involved in a collision with a pick-up truck travelling eastbound turning north on to McConnell Avenue. The deceased has been identified as Douglas Randlett, 58, of Cornwall. The motor vehicle collision is still under investigation by the Cornwall Community. Mr. Randlett was Vice President of the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce.
CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Cornwall, ON – Andrew East, 22, of Williamsburg Virginia was arrested on the 13th of June, 2011 while entering Canada through the Cornwall Point of Entry. Members of the Canada Border Services Agency searched the vehicle and as a result located child pornography material. Police were contacted and the male is facing 1 count of Possession of Child Pornography. He was held in custody for court.
DRUGS
Cornwall, ON – On the 15th of June, 2011 the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search warrant at an Alice Street residence. As a result of the search, a quantity of drugs, believed to be cocaine was seized. The total value of the drugs and other offence related property is estimated at over $300.00.
As a result of the investigation:
Laura Pauline St. Louis, 28, of Cornwall was arrested and charged with 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was released to appear in court on the 28th of July, 2011.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 23 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 16th of June, 2011. It is alleged that on the 15th of June, 2011, he entered into an altercation with his 20 year-old common-law wife when he assaulted her. Police were contacted and an Investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic assault. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not release as it would identify the victim in this incident.
BREACHES
Cornwall, ON – A 15 year-old youth was arrested on the 16th of June, 2011. The youth was bound by two Justice of the Peace Undertakings with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of good Behaviour, obey the rules and regulations of your residence and curfew between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The youth was also bound by a Probation Order with the pertinent conditions of Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 16th of June, 2011, he failed to return to his residence. Police located the youth at approximately 9:30 p.m. He was charged with 5 counts of breach of Justice of the Peace Undertaking and one count of Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(South Dundas) – On 16Jun11, at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Carraway Crescent, Morrisburg, On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 52yr old husband were involved in a verbal altercation. Further investigation revealed the male had sexually assaulted the female and threatened her.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Utter Treat to Cause Death or Bodily
- Sexual Assault
- Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
Glad to see the cocaine getting picked up. Glad to see that little bust last week picking up a half dozen tasers. Now, about all those hostile drunks on Montreal Road between one and four AM.
