Cornwall, ON- A 32-year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 24th of April, 2012. It is alleged that on March 27th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 9-year-old step-son when he assaulted him. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted by the Cornwall Community Police Service Sexual Assault & Child Assault Unit. He was charged with assault and released to appear in court on May 8th, 2012. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.
IMPAIRED OPERATION
Cornwall, ON- Robert Leroux, 59 of Cornwall was arrested shortly before 3:30 p.m. on April 24th, 2012. It is alleged that he operated a motor vehicle on Sydney Street while under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested for Impaired Operation and transported for further testing which resulted in a charge of Over .80. He was released to appear in court on May 8th, 2012.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- Kevin Simser, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on April 24th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on April 12th, 2012 he failed to attend court and a bench warrant was issued. He was located and held in custody until court the following day.
DRUGS & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Tony Thomas, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on April 23rd, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was charged with property obtained by crime, trafficking and breach of probation order. He was released to appear in court on May 10th, 2012.

ASSAULT
(North Stormont) – On 24Apr12, at approximately 9:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a
report of an assault on Queen St. Crysler, On.
The investigation revealed that a 38yr old male had attended a business to pick up a piece of equipment when he became involved in a verbal altercation with another male. The altercation resulted in the 38yr old male assaulting the business owner.
The male was arrested and faces charges of:
- Assault
- Dangerous Operation – Motor vehicle
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Forcible Confinement
- Fail to Comply – Undertaking before Officer in Charge
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
THREAT
(South Dundas) – On 24Apr12, at approximately 12:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a threatening on Church St. Iroquois, On.
The investigation revealed that a 19yr old male (from Cardinal, On) had threatened a female acquaintance.
He was arrested and faces a charge of:
- Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
RACING LAW INFRACTION
- 24Apr12 (10:30pm), SD&G OPP officer stops an eastbound Mitsubishi on Highway 401 South Stormont….155km/h (posted 100km/h zone).
(South Glengarry) – On 20 April 2012, at approximately 9:03pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver travelling towards the City of Cornwall.
The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP located and stopped the vehicle on County Road 20, South Glengarry Township.
The investigation revealed that the 43 year old female driver, Traci TROTTIER of Cornwall, On, was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol when she was stopped by the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP.
She faces charges of:
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

She is scheduled to appear 6 June 2012 in Alexandria court.
OPP INVESTIGATING HOME INVASION
(Lancaster, ON) – On April 25, 2012 at approximately 7:00am, members of the SDG detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a home invasion on Diversion Road in South Glengarry Township.
The investigation has determined that an armed, masked male broke into the residence and assaulted the adult female victim. The suspect stole items from the house before fleeing in the home owner’s vehicle.
Officers responding to the call located the vehicle a short distance away with no one inside.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Team responded and conducted a search of the area for the unknown suspect with negative results.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The OPP’s Forensic Identification Services Unit, SDG Crime Unit, East Region Crime Unit are continuing their investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Dan Nadeau, Criminal Investigation Branch.
