                Cornwall, ON – Tate Jocko, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of August, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. On the 21st of August, 2013 the man attended police headquarters in order to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 21st of August, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the youth failed to attend court on the 25th of July, 2013 and a Bench warrant was issued. On the 21st of August, 2013 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. The youth was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing. The youths name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

                Cornwall, ON – Stanislaw Zalesky, 66 of Alexandria was arrested on the 21st of August, 2013 and charged with Harassment.  It is alleged that between the 7th of July, 2013 and 21st of August, 2013 the man attended an Amelia Street address on several occasions despite being told he was unwanted. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they located the man at the Aquatic Center, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACHES

 

                Cornwall, ON – Matthew Sawyer, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 22nd of August, 2013 and charged with two counts of breach of Undertaking for having been out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of the 22nd of August, 2013 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police on patrol in the area of Montreal Road and Prince Arthur Street. Investigation revealed the man was breaching his Undertaking conditions and taken into custody. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

(South Stormont) – On 21Aug13, at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 12, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that the 51yr old female driver (Lil LIVINGSTONE of Cornwall On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

She is scheduled to appear 17Sept13 in Cornwall court.
(North Glengarry) – On 22Aug13, at approximately 2:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that the 61yr old male driver (Richard DENEAULT of Cornwall On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 04Sept13 in Alexandria court.

SIU Appealing for Witnesses to Etobicoke Motorcycle Collision

Mississauga (22 August, 2013) — Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is appealing for witnesses to a collision yesterday afternoon in Etobicoke that resulted in serious injuries to a 24-year-old man.

Preliminary information indicates the following:
• At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, a Toronto Police Service officer was driving a marked police motorcycle northbound on Kipling Avenue;
• The officer pulled alongside a civilian motorcycle to speak with its driver. However, the driver fled;
• As the 24-year-old driver approached the intersection of Evans Avenue, his motorcycle struck a curb and he was ejected into the intersection;
• The man was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital for treatment of a broken arm and punctured lung.

The SIU has assigned five investigators, two forensic investigators and a collision reconstructionist to probe the circumstances of this incident.

The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault. Under the Police Services Act, the Director of the SIU must

  • consider whether an officer has committed a criminal offence  in connection with the incident under investigation
  • depending on the evidence, lay a criminal charge against the officer if appropriate or close the file without any charges being laid
  • report the results of any investigations to the Attorney General.
