Well Cornwall and the area it’s time! Sunday October 27, 2013 we are having our first Town Hall meeting. The event is free and open to the the public and takes place at the Air Force Wing at 240 Water Street in Cornwall Ontario; one of the nicest views and if the weather cooperates the patio will be open as well!
What is a Town Hall meeting? Well CFN’s is more than some political stumping. It’s live music from local entertainers.
Sean Harley of the Trench Town Oddities and Mandee Woods will be performing at our First Town Hall Meeting!
It’s comedy with local Comic Mark Vincent and a special appearance by legendary Canadian Comic Mike MacDonald who is recovering well from his Liver Transplant! Mike also talks about his bout and support of Mental Health awareness and care.
It’s community booths for local businesses, artists, and groups, from the Girl Guides to Lawyer Milena Cardinal who will be handing out Halloween goodies and some legal info with her team.
And of course you couldn’t have a Town Hall meeting without Political and Community speakers!
Our MPP Jim McDonell will be opening the event at 1 PM.
Akwesasne Grand Chief just might be playing guitar and saying a few words to those in attendance and Warden of the United Counties of SD&G Bill McGimpsey will be there as well.
It’s a great opportunity for people to come together and talk about issues that concern them. It’s about having fun and building our community.
It’s free! Hope to see you Sunday at the RCAF Wing!
There will prize draws for River Kings Tickets and Other Area events!
See you there!
Looks like a great bill. Early congratulations to the organisers for putting this together and ……. break a leg!
It’s all up to the public now. It’s sad though that the City has so far refused to put our link to the event on their Facebook wall.
Looking forward to seeing everybody… don’t be shy to say hi!
sounds interesting, ill try to muster up a friend or 2 from ottawa to go
Be good to see you old chum 🙂
For those that are thinking of attending but are mixed in their feelings; your presence would not suggest a tacit approval of the views expressed by the publication. A town hall meeting is an opprtunuity to hear differing opinions and that is a very healthy thing. I applaud CFN for introducing this concept, with a nice entertainment element thrown in as well.
Hi Cornwallites & Friends,
Looking forward to Town Hall Event today sponsored by CFN-Jamie Gilcig.
Language Fairness for ALL President Chris Cameron will be a speaker, as well we will have a meet & greet booth too. Anxious to meet new people & tell you what LFA is all about; advocating fair hiring practices through representation by population.
Get a 1 year LFA membership for only $10…
Choose language fairness, not sides 🙂
