THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 2nd, 2014 and charged with threats to life. It is alleged that during the month of March, 2014 the woman threatened to shoot her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police located the woman at her residence, took her into custody and charged her accordingly. She was later released to appear in court on May 6th, 2014. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
FRAUD
Cornwall, ON – Samantha McCormick, 18 of Maxville was arrested on April 2nd, 2014 and charged with two counts of fraud under $5000 and unauthorized use of a credit card. It is alleged that during the month of January, 2014 the woman deposited empty envelopes into an ATM and withdrew money from the account without the permission of the account holder. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 2nd, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 15th, 2014.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Bonnie Thompson, 42 of Cornwall was arrested on April 1st, 2014 and charged with five counts of breach of undertaking for being at a store that she is prohibited from going to and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on March 31st, 2014 the woman was spotted at a Brookdale Avenue store by a Loss Prevention Officer despite being on conditions not to attend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 1st, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Bruce Taylor, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on April 1st, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on June 25th, 2013 the man took meat from a Vincent Massey Drive store and police were contacted to investigate. The man’s whereabouts were unknown and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On April 1st, 2014 the man was turned over to Cornwall Community Police as he was taken into custody by OPP on the strength of the warrant. He was later released to appear in court on May 15th, 2014.

CHARGES LAID(South Glengarry) – On 01Apr14, at approximately 1:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a male attempting to use a gift card that was obtained by fraudulent means.The investigation revealed that a male driver (Mohammad Riaz ABBASI of Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC) was in possession of numerous gift cards that were obtained by fraudulent means. The 50yr old male was attempting to purchase gas with the cards.He was arrested and faces charges of:- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 x5
He is scheduled to appear 06Jun14 in Alexandria court.
TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS
(North Dundas) – On 01Apr14, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Main St. Morewood, On.
The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana. The 21yr old male driver (Cody EDGERTON of North Dundas) was arrested and faces a charge of:
– Poss. of a Schedule II substance-Cannabis Marihuana
He is scheduled to appear 13May14 in Morrisburg court.
