CORNWALL Ontario – Firefighters, EMS, and Police were called to the Walmart store on Brookdale Avenue in Cornwall Ontario Wednesday night. Smoke was reported at approximately 8 PM which resulted in the store being evacuated.
No injuries were reported and the Cornwall Fire Services were investigating the roof looking for a possible cause.

Fire Department Responds to Smoke at the main entrance of WalMart
The Event
At approx. 22:00 hrs. on Wednesday, April 9th a call was received by the 911 operator advising of a smoke coming from the main entrance of a commercial building on the 900 block of Brookdale.
The Response
The Fire Services Department responded with 5 vehicles from 2 stations. A total of 11 fire personnel were at the scene.
The Summary
The smoke was cleared with no injuries . The store was, however, evacuated as a precaution and remained closed for the remainder of the incident. The incident was concluded at approx. 21:45 hrs.
The Fire Prevention unit will was dispatched to investigate the cause of the alarm.
