WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 11th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on March 18th, 2014 the woman failed to attend court as required for a domestic related charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 11th, 2014 the woman was spotted by a Member of the Cornwall Community Police Service and taken into custody on the strength of the warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the original matter.
THREATS, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 11th, 2014 and charged with threats and breach of two probation orders and one undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on April 11th, 2014 the man was involved in a verbal argument with his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend when he threatened to punch her in the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 11th, 2014 during their investigation police took the man into custody, charged him accordingly and held him for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Gregory Perrin, 53 of Ottawa was arrested on April 13th, 2014 and charged with over 80. It is alleged that the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he was stopped at the port of entry. Police were contacted and assumed custody of the man. He was charged with over 80 and later released to appear in court on April 22nd, 2014.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 13th, 2014 and charged with breaching her undertaking for communicating with someone she has conditions not to and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on April 13th, 2014 the woman was found to be in the company of the person for which she has conditions not to. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the matter stems from a domestic incident and might identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 10th, 2014 on the strength of a probation office warrant for failing to complete her community hours and failing to make a restitution payment. On April 10th, 2014 the woman was located at her residence, taken into custody and later transported to police headquarters where she was released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as the matter stems from an incident when the woman was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Amanda Laplante, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on April 10th, 2014 and charged with failing to appear for prints. It is alleged that on March 26th, 2014 the woman failed to attend police headquarters as scheduled for prints and as a result an investigation ensued. On April 10th, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 10th, 2014 and charged with assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on April 10th, 2014 during an argument with his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend the man struck the woman under the eye. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Police later located the man who had fled the scene at a Walton Street address and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

(South Stormont) – On 11Apr14, at approximately 9:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Strachan Ave, South Stormont Township.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 36yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.
The male was arrested and faces charges of:
– Assault
– Mischief – Domestic
– Unlawfully in Dwelling House
– Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge
– Forcible Confinement
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
STRUCTURE FIRE
(North Dundas) – On 13Apr14, at approximately 03:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a structure fire on Kerr’s Ridge Road, North Dundas Township.
Fire departments from North Dundas and North Grenville attended the scene and extinguished the blaze. There were no reported injuries, various pieces of farming equipment that was being stored in the shed was lost in the blaze.
The fire has been deemed non-suspicious in nature.

(Ottawa) — Today, Ottawa Police Service West District Investigators met with representatives from VIA Rail Canada regarding possible incidents of mischief at seven West end railway crossings.
The seven railway crossings in question are Strandherd Road, Jockvale Road, Greenbank Road, Fallowfield Road, Woodroffe Avenue, the OC Transpo Transitway and Merivale Road.
Ottawa Police will be leading this investigation with assistance from VIA Rail Canada Police Service.
