Cornwall PoliceBREACH PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 33 year old male who is currently in custody is alleged to have breached several of his conditions by contacting his 37 year old ex-girlfriend. The male is bound by a Probation Order with the relevant conditions to not have any contact with his ex-girlfriend and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is also bound by a Non-Communication Order while in custody in relation to the same ex-girlfriend. It is alleged that between February 27 and March 17, 2014 the male contacted his ex-girlfirend by letter and by phone. Police were notified and an investigation was conducted. On April 30, 2014, the male was charged with 4 counts of Breach of Probation and 3 counts of Breach of Detention Order. He remains in custody to await a Bail Hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 19 year old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 30, 2014. It is alleged that on April 27, 2014, she was at a party and engaged in a verbal argument with her 20 year old ex-boyfriend, which escalated into a physical altercation. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The woman was charged with Domestic Assault. She was released to appear in court on May 27, 2014.

THEFT UNDER AND BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Nancy Leach, age 50, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 30, 2014. She is bound by a Probation Order with the relevant conditions to not be in a place known to sell non-prescribed medication or narcotics and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that she took an item from a local department store and left the business without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. She was charged with Theft Under $5000 and 2 counts of Breach of Probation. She was released to appear in court on May 20, 2014.

(South Stormont) – On 26Apr14, at approximately 03:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Northfield Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that two females were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted one of the females assaulting the other.

The 40yr old female (from North Dundas) was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Uttering Threats
– Assault with A Weapon
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
