Rave in Ottawa Leads to One Death – Ottawa Police Investigating MDMA ECSTASY OPS July 5, 2014

opsCFN –  The Ottawa Police Service is currently investigating two separate incidents where pills were consumed at local rave events in Ottawa between June 29-July 1, 2014 and severe reactions ensued.

In the first case, a 20 year-old female of Ottawa, went to a local hospital and she remains in an induced coma and is suffering from liver problems. In the second case, a 19 year-old female, from out of town, went to a local hospital and died hours later.

The two separate incidents are under police investigation and the pills have not yet been identified, however it is believed that it could possibly be MDMA or Ecstasy. There is no further information available at this time.

The Ottawa Police Service, the Regional Coroner’s Office, and Ottawa Public Health are working together to inform the public of the dangers of consuming drugs and/or pills.
