BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 30th, 2014 and charged with breach of undertaking for having communicated with someone that she has conditions not to and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on July 27th, 2014 the woman contacted her 23-year-old ex-boyfriend on several occasions by way of text messages and phone calls despite being on conditions not to contact him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 30th, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
MISCHIEF OVER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Taylor Bergeron, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on July 30th, 2014 and charged with mischief over $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on July 28th, 2014 police attended a Bryden Avenue residence and found that the man caused extensive damage to the residence and contents. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
POSSESSION, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE, PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME
Cornwall, ON – Robert Lacelle, 26 and Joseph Lepage, 28 both from Cornwall were arrested on July 30th, 2014 and charged with possession of Methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Lacelle was also charged with property obtained by crime and possession of marihuana. It is alleged that on July 30th, 2014 during a traffic stop a quantity of Methamphetamine was found along with Canadian currency and marihuana. Both men were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
RESIDENTIAL FIRE
(South Dundas) – On July 31st, 2014 at approximately 1:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report from the Fire Department of a residential fire at a property on Caldwell Drive, South Dundas Township. Investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) continue the investigation assisted by SD&G OPP officers.
BREACH OF CONDITIONS
(South Dundas) – On July 31st, 2014 at approximately 2:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a property on County Road 8, South Dundas Township following a report of an adult male in breach of conditions imposed from a previous incident. With the assistance of OPP Canine and Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers, the 35 year old male was arrested without incident and is charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts)
He was held in custody to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Cornwall this date.
As police conducted the arrest, a 64 year old male from the above noted residence interfered with officers. He was also arrested and is charged with;
– Obstruct Peace Officer
He was released and is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Morrisburg on September 2nd, 2014.
THEFT OF GENERATOR
(South Glengarry) – Overnight (29-30Jul14), a Hyundai 6500 watt generator, silver and black was taken from a property on Poirier Avenue, South Glengarry Township.
An investigation continues.
