CCPS LOGOIMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

            Cornwall, ON – Paul Jean-Louis, 52 of Fournier was arrested on August 15th, 2014 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that on August 15th, 2014 during a traffic stop in the area of Thirteenth Street and Brookdale Avenue the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on August 21st, 2014.

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON – Steven Connor, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on August 15th, 2014 on the strength of warrants and for having breached his recognizance for failing to reside at a specific address. It is alleged that the man failed to attend court and warrants were issued for his arrest. During a police investigation it was learned that the man had moved despite being on conditions to notify courts prior to doing so. On August 15th, 2014 police attended the area of Pitt Street and Second Street in relation to an unwanted person. Once on scene police identified the man and took him into custody on the strength of the warrants. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

            Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on August 15th, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on August 14th, 2014 during an argument with her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend the woman punched and scratched him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on September 9th, 2014. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS, BREACH

            Cornwall, ON – Tate Jocko, 24 of Akwesasne was arrested on August 16th, 2014 and charged with threats to life and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on August 16th, 2014 while at the hospital the man threatened to kill hospital staff. Police were called and an investigation ensued. On august 16th, 2014 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

            Cornwall, ON – Lisa Sauve, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on August 17th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on August 17th, 2014 the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue Store and selected several shirts making no attempts to pay for them as she left the store. She was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Breach

            Cornwall, ON – Calvin Hope, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on August 18th, 2014 and charged with breach of undertaking for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of August 18th, 2014 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service out past curfew in the area of Adolphus Street and Second Street. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SD&G OPP

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

(North Stormont) – On August 15th, 2014 at approximately 5:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a commercial property on Highway 138, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his spouse while the couple traveled in a vehicle resulted in the male assaulting the female and causing damage to the vehicle.

The 23 year old male (from Cornwall) was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault
– Mischief

He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 9th, 2014. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Glengarry) – On August 17th, 2014 at approximately 9:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Church Street, South Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed a verbal altercation had taken place between an adult male and his ex-spouse. Further investigation indicated unregistered firearms in the residence.

The 41 year old male was arrested and is charged with;

– Unauthorized Possession of a firearm

He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 1st, 2015. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

 

MAN CHARGED AFTER BREACHING CONDITIONS TWICE

(North Dundas) – On August 15th, 2014 at approximately 9:15pm, SD&G OPP officers on foot patrol at the South Mountain Fair had the occasion to intercept a male who was breaching conditions (purchase/consume alcohol) imposed from a previous incident.

James ELLIS (27) from North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on October 28th, 2014.

On August 16th, 2014 at approximately 9:45pm, ELLIS was again observed by police at the same event under the influence of alcohol and being aggressive. He was arrested and is further charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)
– Causing a Disturbance
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (small quantity of suspected marihuana located during search of accused)
– Being Intoxicated in a Public Place (Liquor Licence Act)
– Fail to Leave Premises when Directed (Trespass to Property Act)

He was held in custody, pending an appearance (bail) in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
UTTER THREATS

(South Dundas) – On August 16th, 2014 at approximately 9:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a property on Pigeon Island Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had threatened and harassed two (2) other adults. During his arrest, a small quantity of suspected marihuana was also located.

The 57 year old (from South Dundas) is charged with;

– Utter Threats (2 counts)
– Criminal Harassment (2 counts)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was held in custody, pending an appearance (bail) in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victims.

 

THEFTS

(South Glengarry) – Overnight (15-16Aug14), a motorized golf cart was taken from a property on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. In the same area, tires were slashed on a boat trailer parked on another property.

An investigation continues.

(North Dundas) – Overnight (17-18Aug14), a quantity of diesel fuel and 4 batteries from heavy machinery were taken from a property on County Road 31, North Dundas Township.

An investigation continues.

 

MISCHIEF

(South Stormont) – Overnight (15-16Aug14), several mailboxes and street signs were damaged on Headline Road in the area of Poplar Street, South Stormont Township. Suspicious activity was heard at approximately 4:30am.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Glengarry) – On August 15th, 2014 an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to intercept two (2) vehicles on separate stops on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township, for travelling at excessive speeds. Both vehicles were impounded and driver’s permits seized as per legislation.

– 7:10pm, vehicle clocked at 153km/h (100km/h zone), 29 year old male driver from Stouffville, Ontario charged.

– 10:07pm, vehicle clocked at 154km/h (100km/h zone), 20 year old male driver from Brampton, Ontario charged.

Press Release

Police are investigating a break and enter to the “Telus Mobility” store located at 2211 Parkedale Ave. sometime overnight from the 14th of August to the 15th.

Police are asking anyone that may have observed vehicles in the area of the Commerce Court complex in the early morning hours to contact the service.

At 4:00 pm on August 15, Brockville Police arrested a 39 year old male and 21 year old male for failing to comply with their bail conditions. Both males have been remanded into custody for a bail hearing on Monday.

At 10:00 pm on August 15, Brockville Police executed a search warrant at a downtown address under the controlled drugs and substance act.

A 35 year old male and 28 year old female are facing charges of “possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.” They have been released from custody with a future court date.

Weekly Police Report

On August 14th, Police responded to a theft complaint at a north end drug store.

A male party was seen on video removing items from the store. Police believe same suspect is responsible for similar theft from store in May of this year.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no description or further information at this time.

Press Release

On August 14th, Police responded to Centeen Park in regards to a mischief complaint.

A 20 year old male and a 22 year old male were arrested and charged with Mischief Under $5,000.00 after it was discovered they had torn out deck boards from the city walkway. Both parties are local residents.

The 22 year old was also charged with Breaching Conditions of his Undertaking stemming from past charges. They were released on conditions and given a future court date.

On August 14th, Police responded to a south end intersection in regards to a suspicious male.

A young boy on his bicycle was approached male party in a vehicle and asked to enter the vehicle for the purposes of getting directions to a local business. The boy left the area on his bike and police were contacted.

The male is described as having brown hair with grey on the sides, grey beard. The vehicle was described as an older bronze coloured vehicle, four doors, rust on bottom of passenger side door.

A local 42 year old female was charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Fraud Under $5000.00.

She was released from Police custody and given a future court date.

At approximately 10:00 am on August 14th, Brockville Police responded to the Brockville General Hospital in regards to staff needing assistance.

A 47 year old male patient had assaulted two hospital staff members and afterwards barricaded himself in a room. Police took control of the male and he was secured by hospital staff.

The Ottawa area male will possibly face assault charges when discharged. Injuries to the staff were minor in nature.

    Now this sounds familiar, I was charged for the exact same thing at the exact same place and my name was put all over several papers, including ottawa and other cities. How is that fair? Im getting a copy of the video of surveillance from my lawyer and posting it since it clears up the allegations against me and is in the way of being dropped. I had they watched the video in the first place i would never have been charged nor would I and my family have publicly embarrassed!
