CORNWALL Ontario – We knew it was going to happen. Incumbents Bernadette Clement and Elaine MacDonald signed on the dotted line and will run for council again in 2014.
Both are on the Feral Five list of councilors that have essentially rubber stamped Mayor Kilger’s secretive and at times essentially illegal actions. Ms Clement was sniffing around to run under Justin Trudeau in the next Federal election although the buzz is that she ran such a poor campaign and has so much baggage that the party has their eye one of Cornwall’s bigger ticket lawyers.
They join Alyssa Blais & Carilyne Hebert (both MacDonald proteges) as well as Heather Megill bringing to five out of 23 candidates for council with Friday the deadline for candidates to put their names forward.
The current council is under scrutiny for a litany of black marks from illegal in camera meetings, to whistle blowers and other chicanery.
Ms MacDonald in particular has been singled out for her gross conflicts of interest by speaking on behalf of organizations that she sits on the board of in open council.

And the Seaway News is reporting that Claude McIntosh is crawling out of Mayor Kilger’s nether regions and will be running for council. The long time Cornwall scribbler will not be writing his column during the election the story reported. As of press time his name was not on the dotted line.
Mr. McIntosh’s last column for the Free Holder earned the paper a lawsuit. The third in row. He landed at the Seaway News and the paper has gone from 48 to 24 pages per edition since.

Hopefully out of the 24 council candidates and 3 mayor candidates we can get a city council who will do what is needed. We don’t need a rubber stamp council again.
Be prepared folks to kiss Cornwall goodbye. It looks like everything is rigged. I think that Cornwall is already gone.

Hugger I’m a candidate and looks like they’re stacking the deck with clique candidates.
Hugger I know what I am saying. I see the clique people (the fox in charge of the hen house) and I sure do know what they do with the votes. I am completely and utterly through with voting. I will vote for two specific dogs one Fitzie and the other little Rudy on my street so as to deface any ballot IF and only IF I was forced to vote otherwise I will never be seen at the voting booth ever again. I stick to what I believe in. Cornwall is finished.
“They” aren’t the ones who have the ultimate decision. The voters / taxpayers will decide who gets in.
Depends on your definition of “finished.” Cornwall has had a bad reputation for years, yet people and companies still continue to move here.
I wouldn’t trust Claude MacIntosh or Queenie Bernadette Clément or any of them if I fell in a pail of doo doo and Claude offered to pour a pail of water as a rinse. You cannot trust a single one of them at all. I warned all of you for a long time now and Bare Ass feels very strong believe me I can see it in that jerk’s face like he was a book. The Barney Fife PD has to go as well and replace it with the OPP.
As you don’t live here AND refuse to vote I don’t think the candidates are too worried.
