Traffic Stop Nabs Alleged Armed Robber JOHN PECORE in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS Jan 16, 2015

ROBBERY, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – John Pecore, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on January 14th, 2015 and charged with 28 criminal code charges including:

·         Robbery

·         Disguise with intent

·         Robbery with a weapon

·         Robbery with intent

·         Assault with a weapon

·         Breaches

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Cornwall Community Police Service was investigating incidents that occurred on Dcember16th, 2014, January 13th and 14th, 2015 in which the man was responsible for six separate robberies within the city of Cornwall. It is alleged the man entered five local businesses, demanded and received money from the clerk/owner all the while wearing a disguise. On one occasion he brandished a hammer and on another occasion brandished a steel pipe which he used to strike a man who tried to intervene on the head causing minor injuries. Local businesses that were targeted include a gas bar, clothing store, convenience store, hair salon and a tanning salon. The man also targeted a taxi cab in one of the robberies. On January 14th, 2015 the man was taken into custody during a traffic stop by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service shortly after the he left the clothing store robbery. He was transported to police headquarters, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The breaches are as a result of the man being bound by conditions of a probation order.

 

WARRANTS

 

Cornwall, ON – Clarissa Square, 21 and Bradley Legue, 29 both of no fixed address were arrested on January 15th, 2015 on the strength of warrants. It is alleged that Square failed to attend court for an assault charge and the Legue failed to attend court for drug related offences and warrants were issued for their arrest. On January 15th, 2015 both were located separately within the Cornwall Square by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service. They were taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Delcarmen Guzman, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2015 and charged with breaching a recognizance for being in control of a motor vehicle and being in the company of someone known use drugs. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of January 16th, 2015 the woman was found to be operating a motor vehicle while in the company of someone known to use drugs. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the area of Eleventh Street, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Ottawa Police Service

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, January 16, 2015       9:00am

(Ottawa) – On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, the Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant in the 1-100 block of Patola Private.  The warrant and arrest of a man was the culmination of a week long investigation.

Included in the items seized are:

  • 50 rounds of 9 mm ammunition
  • 7 grams of cocaine valued at $700.00.
  • 0.7 grams of marihuana

As a result of the investigation, Juma ABDI, 24 years old, of Ottawa is charged with:

  • Possession of Ammunition while Prohibited under Sec 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance (cocaine) under Sec 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance (marihuana) under Sec 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Breach of Probation X 2 under Sec 733.1 of the Criminal Code
  • Breach of Recognizance X 2 under Sec 145(3) of the Criminal Code

He was held for a Show Cause Hearing on January 15, 2015.
