OPPIMPAIRED DRIVER – DRUGS SEIZED

(South Glengarry) – On January 25, 2015 at approximately 5:32am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The vehicle was intercepted and investigation indicated that the male driver was under the influence of alcohol. Upon being arrested, the male became assaultive with officers. A quantity of suspected marihuana, cannabis resin, crack cocaine and cash were also located and seized.

Lincoln RUSSELL (36) of Lachine, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
– Resist Peace Officer
– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
– Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

Passengers Quincy CORBY (23) and Shaquina ATKINSON (23), both of Montreal, Quebec were also arrested and each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

RUSSELL and CORBY were held in custody (bail in Cornwall) while ATKINSON was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 4, 2015.

 

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On January 22, 2015 at approximately 5:49pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on French Avenue, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a female and her boyfriend resulted in the male being assaulted. She also proceeded to cause damage within the home.

The 41-year-old female was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5000
– Fail to Comply with Probation

She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

 

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry) – On January 19, 2015 at approximately 11:16am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a youth in contravention of a condition (attend school) imposed from a previous incident at a property on Tyotown Road, South Glengarry Township.

The 14-year-old female youth from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested by Cornwall Community Police officers on January 23, 2015 and turned over to SD&G OPP for processing. She is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 29, 2015.
(South Glengarry) – On January 22, 2015 at approximately 4:24m, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a youth in contravention of a condition (attend school) imposed from a previous incident at a property on Tyotown Road, South Glengarry Township.

The 15-year-old male youth was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Undertaking

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 12, 2015.

 

STOLEN SNOWMOBILE

(North Glengarry) – On January 25, 2015 at approximately 12:00pm, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a theft of a snowmobile at a residence on Tobin Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that overnight (January 24-25, 2015) a 1999 Bombardier Formula DLX, maroon was stolen from the property.

On January 21st, Brockville Police responded to a complaint last evening of a male in the middle of the intersection at King St W and Broad St lying in the middle of the road. When a citizen tried to assist the male began kicking at her car causing minor damage. The adult male was arrested Breach of his Undertaking, Breach of Probation and Mischief and will appear in Provincial Court later today.

Yesterday the Brockville Police conducted a traffic initiative during the afternoon commute from school at the intersection of Kensington Parkway and Laurier Boulevard. Officers monitored the crossing watching for various highway traffic act infractions at the well-travelled intersection and were happy to report no infractions were observed.

On January 21st, Brockville Police detectives and uniform personnel executed a search warrant on a King St West apartment late yesterday morning in connection with an ongoing investigation into the break and enter at “The Many Things Store” on King St. One adult male and one young offender were arrested in the apartment and some swords, knives and watches were recovered. (Note: Name of the adult cannot be released at this time because the Information has not been sworn to before the courts)

On January 20th, Brockville Police responded to 5 minor Motor Vehicle Accidents yesterday. BPS is urging drivers to drive with caution during this cold spell as there is a lot of black ice on the roads. Please clear off all your windows and make sure drivers have a clear view in all directions before setting off on your travels.

On January 19th, Brockville Police responded to a local group home where a resident was causing problems when returning to the residence.

A local, 20 year old male was found by police to have been drinking. Consumption of the alcohol along with his behaviour was in violation of two of the court conditions he was facing for outstanding charges.

He was arrested and charged with breaching his release conditions.

On January 19th, Brockville Police responded to the King St. W. area in regards to a couple of males yelling on the street and bothering other pedestrians.

Police located one of the males in the area of the Metro on King St. W. He was found to be in an agitated state and under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and released when sober with a fine.

On January 19th, Brockville Police responded to a theft complaint at a residence in the center of the city.

A 17 year old female had sold her Mother’s television set and her sister’s clothing while the Mother was away on vacation. Police arrested the local youth for theft under breaching a condition of an outstanding release document. A previous criminal charge placed a condition on the youth to be of good behaviour.

She was held in custody and will appear in youth bail court.

On January 18th, Brockville Police arrested and charged a local 36 year old female on an outstanding warrant. She was wanted for failing to attend court. She was released with a future court date.

On January 17th, Brockville Police took a theft complaint from the liquor store on Parkedale Ave. on November 25th, 2014.

As a result of that investigation, warrants were issued for a 32 year old male and a 22 year old female. On Sunday, the female was arrested on the strength of that warrant in the Gananoque area.

She was released with a future court date.

On January 18th, Brockville Police responded to a complaint of a male lying on the roadway near the south end of Stewart Blvd.

A local, 44 year old male was located at that location. He was intoxicated and suffering injuries to one side of his face. He was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment but became too much for staff to handle. He was taken from the hospital by police and released when sober with a fine. It is unknown if the male fell or was assaulted at this time due to his lack of cooperation.

On January 17th, Brockville Police performed a traffic stop on North Augusta Rd. that resulted in drug charges.

A 20 year old, local male was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was released with a future court date.

Another male in the vehicle, 16 years of age, will have his charge diverted.

On January 17th, Brockville Police responded to a store front in the south end of town in regards to a passed out male party.

The local, 22 year old was found to be in a an intoxicated state and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for Public Intoxication and held in custody until sober. A fine was issued when released.

On January 16th, Brockville Police responded to TISS for a theft complaint of an IPAD.

Investigation revealed that a 14 year old male was in possession of the IPAD. It was further noted, five other IPADs are missing.

Charges have not been laid as of yet and the investigation is continuing.

On January 16th, Brockville Police arrested a local 21 year old male for sexual interference in regards to an outstanding investigation.

The subject was also charged for his involvement in a break and enter to “Many Things” on King St W. on January 5th. The sexual interference charge stems from an inappropriate relationship with a minor from late December, 2014.

Brockville Police have been investigating both incidents for several weeks. The break and enter is still an ongoing investigation.

The local party was held in custody and will appear in bail court.

On January 16th, Brockville Police made aware that a 17 year old male was wanted for breaching his release conditions. An adult female who had signed as a surety for the youths release in bail court, reported he was not abiding by his terms. The local male was located and arrested by police. He was remanded into custody and will appear in bail court later today.
