(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a single motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 48 year old man.
On the 20th of August 2016 at about 8:00 PM O.P.P officers from Leeds County Detachment responded to a collision on County Road 42 west of Athens, near Washburn Road, Leeds And Thousand Islands Township. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was westbound, lost control, flipped and struck a hydro pole on the north side of the road.
The driver and lone occupant, 48 year old Percy David DOUDS, of Rideau Lakes, died as a result of his injuries.
A portion of County Road 42 remained closed for several hours while members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators conducted their investigation.
The investigation continues.
