BREAK-IN/HOME INVASION
(North Dundas) – On August 23, 2016 – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers began an investigation into a report of a break-in at a residence on South Street in the Village of Chesterville, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that on August 20, 2016 at approximately 7:00pm, culprit(s) forcibly entered the residence while an elderly female was in the home. The suspect(s) proceeded to cause damage inside by throwing apples at walls and ceilings, some striking the female. She was not injured.

BREAK-IN/THEFT
(North Glengarry) – Overnight (August 22-23, 2016), a residential garage was entered at a property on County Road 23A, North Glengarry Township. Inside, two (2) Cross-Bows and construction equipment were removed.
An investigation continues.
DRUGS SEIZED
(South Stormont) – On August 23, 2016 at approximately 11:31pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle for speeding on County Road 18, South Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana. Further information also revealed that the male driver’s permit was suspended.
Ira LAVERGNE (26) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Driving While Suspended (Highway Traffic Act)
– Speeding
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 25, 2016 (drug charge).
