SD&G OPP Round Up – Busy Weekend! Sept 12, 2016

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Glengarry) – On September 9, 2016 at approximately 7:11pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a traffic complaint on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. A vehicle and female driver were intercepted at a property in the village of Lancaster. Investigation indicated that she was under the influence of alcohol.

Shelley ONDICH (51) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on October 12, 2016.
DOMESTIC – THREATS

(South Dundas) – On September 9, 2016 at approximately 7:39pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Ottawa Street, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had made threats towards his ex-spouse and other family members.

The 38-year-old from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Utter Threats (3 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
FLIGHT FROM POLICE – DRUGS SEIZED

(South Glengarry) – On September 10, 2016 at approximately 12:11pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle for speeding on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. As the officer completed required documents, the vehicle fled the scene being driven in an erratic manner. A short distance away, the vehicle entered the ditch at an off-ramp and the two (2) male occupants fled on foot. Both were arrested nearby by officers. A quantity of suspected marihuana was also seized from the vehicle.
The driver, Christopher OXLEY-ANDRIC (31) of Lachine, Quebec is charged with;

– Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest (gave false identification)
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Resist Peace Officer
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (licence plate on vehicle stolen)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed (Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
– Fail to Remain (HTA)
– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence (HTA)

The male passenger, David RICKARD (48) of Lachine, Quebec is charged with;

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (licence plate on vehicle stolen)
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(North Dundas) – On September 10, 2016 at approximately 2:20pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 3, North Dundas Township. The officer recognized the female driver and a pedestrian nearby as being in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident.

A 35-year-old female from North Dundas and a 34-year-old male from Ottawa, Ontario were arrested and each charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts)

Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
ASSAULT

(North Dundas) – On September 11, 2016 at approximately 12:40pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Church Street, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult female had assaulted a family member.

The 73-year-old female was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on October 11, 2016. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
DAMAGED MAILBOXES

(South Dundas) – Overnight (September 10-11, 2016) several mailboxes were damaged at residences located on English Road, Broken Second Road, Arlie Road, Kelly Road and County Road 40, South Dundas Township.

An investigation continues.
BREAK-INS

(South Dundas) – Over the last week, a residence located on Locke Lane, South Dundas Township was entered. Inside, a quantity of assorted Ryobi and Mastercraft power tools were stolen.

An investigation continues.
(North Glengarry) –  Between September 8-10, 2016, a shed at a residential property on Lochiel Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township was forcibly entered. Inside, a Cub Cadet push lawnmower, Nautilus Power Pack, fishing supplies, assorted power and hand tools were taken.

An investigation continues.
