Suspect sought in home invasion on Longshire Circle
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Break & Enter Unit is investigating a recent home invasion and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.
On December 30, 2016, at approximately 1:20am, a female victim was accosted by a lone male suspect inside her home, situated along Longshire Circle. The suspect approached her in the upstairs of the house and pointed a handgun at her. The male demanded the female attend with him at her bank and withdraw money.
The victim drove the suspect to her bank and withdrew an undisclosed quantity of cash. The victim then drove back toward her home. The suspect exited her vehicle on Avonhurst Ave. There were no injuries.
The suspect is believed to have entered through an insecure entry. There were also children present in the home at the time of the incident. They were not alerted to the incident at the time.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 30-40 years, obese, approximately 5’9” (175cm), with a deep voice. The male also reportedly smelled bad and his breathing was laboured.
