CORNWALL ONTARIO – Mother Nature is going gentle on Cornwall today. Instead of the mass of snow originally predicted we should see less than 10cm in total Tuesday, but FREEZING RAIN is predicted as well as other forms of the wet stuff.
It’s -8c at CFN HQ as of 6:45 AM. Expect temps to warm up to 2c tonight with a high of 7 and rain predicted for Wednesday.
Can someone explain why the STEO twitter page has a cancellation notice from January 24 pinned to the top of their page? Or why they still haven’t fixed their slow hosting issues for their website?

Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Morrisburg – Long Sault
- Winchester – Newington
An extended period of freezing rain tonight.
Freezing rain is expected to begin this evening and last for several hours before ending overnight. Freezing rain over the Ottawa Valley could last longer, into early Wednesday morning. A few centimetres of snow and ice pellets are likely before the freezing rain begins.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
