Cornwall Ontario – Holy Patrick Brown! It must have been a slow day for Gay Conservative Cornwall News Blogger Bill Kingston, or as he’s been called, “The Queen of Mean”, as he cobbled together a fascinating take on which SD&G Counties council member spent the most cash.
In his story on Cornwall Newswatch he sported a lovely photo of Mayor Eric Duncan and focused on how much the newly outed Conservative Mayor spent.
North Dundas Mayor Eric Duncan was the costliest county councillor for his duties with SD&G in 2016.
Those figures are part of a statement of remuneration, required under the Ontario Municipal Act. The report was received by county council this morning (Monday) during its monthly meeting.
County councillors get a base salary of $11,204.48, but that doesn’t include extra money for meetings, conference remuneration, conference expenses and mileage, which can add thousands of dollars to the bottom line.
Outside of then-Warden Jamie MacDonald, Duncan had the largest bill for meetings ($4,296.15) and for mileage ($2,124,52), amassing a total of $23,028.98. His conference expenses totalled $4,327.13.
That’s some pretty liberal spending. Could young Mr. Duncan be pondering his political future and perhaps take a page from Scott Brison, a former Conservative that walked the aisle over to the Liberals over some of the glass ceiling in the Conservative party, and continued to be a fine MP?? Duncan has long been been said to be the heir apparent to MP Guy Lauzon, but a lot of quiet rumblings have been murmured in political shadows locally that it isn’t in the cards? Eric is a political animal and clearly will remain in politics, but is an ambitious young man.
The money shot would be whether voters in the area would follow him to the grits?
Bill is part of the creepy conservative clique in the area. A lot of Boston Bruins fans with the likes of the creepy Colin Munro and friends. Watching some of them on social media or even worse, and in person, is very very creepy.
Kingston was also alleged to have been the neighbor who fingered the Worm Kids in Cornwall, allegedly complaining about the Kids selling worms from their front porch on busy Second Street West.
As the legendary, gorgeous, and talented Cyndi Lauper once wrote: “Girls just want to have fun.”
Maybe it’s time for everyone to be nicer?
