Freezing rain is expected later today into tonight.
Periods of freezing rain are expected to develop later this morning over regions extending from Algonquin Park across Renfrew to Brockville. The freezing rain is expected to spread into the Ottawa to Cornwall areas early this afternoon.
Latest indications show that freezing rain will persist into this evening before changing to rain as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark.
However, areas near the Ottawa Valley will likely take longer to rise above the freezing mark. These areas could see the freezing rain persist until well after midnight tonight.
Motorists should be prepared for poor winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
