DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS
(North Stormont) – On May 30, 2017 at approximately 5:31pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on County Road 13, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his common-law spouse resulted in the female being assaulted and threatened. The accused had also caused damage to property within the home and a vehicle on the property. Further information revealed historical incidents where the victim was withheld from leaving the home. No injuries resulted.
The 30-year-old male from North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault – Spousal (2 counts)
– Utter Threats (2 counts)
– Mischief (4 counts)
– Forcible Confinement
– Criminal Harassment
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Dundas) – On May 30, 2017 at approximately 7:50pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Sir James Morris Drive, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his common-law spouse resulted in the female and a female guest present being assaulted. The accused also damaged property within the home.
The 24-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault – Spousal
– Assault
– Mischief
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
BREAK-INS
(North Dundas) – Overnight (May 30-31, 2017) – a commercial business (Laughlin’s County Store) was forcibly entered. Inside, a quantity of cigarettes, cellphone charging cords and cash were stolen.
(South Stormont) – Between May 28-29, 2017 – a residence and garage located on Willy Allan Road, South Stormont Township was entered. Quantities of cash and alcohol were stolen.
Investigations continue on the above incidents.
